Beautiful lakefront home on quiet South Toledo Bend Cove

Come on in to the Steel Magnolia, a beautiful lakefront home, cozily tucked in a deep cove on the south end of Toledo Bend! The lake and sunset views from this home are so magnificent you will feel like you are on the inside of a painting.
You will have all the amenities of home in this fully furnished cottage style house with charming decor. The kitchen-dining-family room area is an open floor plan that has stunning panoramic views from the wall-to-wall windows on the back of the home. The family room has a wood-burning fireplace with a large leather sofa-sleeper (queen), a sleeper-loveseat (twin) and a leather recliner that is great for naps! Both master suites have comfortable queen beds. The farm style dining table seats seven people, and there is also kitchen bar area that is great for drinks and snacks. The kitchen is fully stocked and has brand new stainless appliances and all of the cooking and eating utensils you will need. The home has WIFI access.
The second-level outdoor deck has plenty of seating and a perfect view, entertaining can be enjoyed by all, day or night. The lakefront wharf has boat tie-ups and bumpers and two Adirondack chairs to sit and catch fish, or just to enjoy the views of the beautiful Toledo Bend Lake. Additionally, the house comes with kayaks and a canoe– which are perfect for cooling off in the lake on a hot day.
While everyone can catch loads of fish right off the back dock, the whole family can also enjoy the peaceful serenity of the landscape surrounding this home, making it a vacation spot that everyone will enjoy. You may even get to meet Max, the friendly neighborhood dog, who occasionally wanders over to say hi or to quietly bask in the sun on the dock.

There are two boat launches within three miles of the house with launch fees between $5-10. Our dock can accommodate up to three boats that can be left overnight unless there is inclement weather.

If you enjoy golf or a nice meal out, the Cypress Bend Resort and Golf Course is a quick 20 minute drive away. This is a world class golf course with incredible views of the lake, spa and other amenities. You can find the best burger in all of LA at Curtis’s Grocery & Deli just 10 minutes down the road, they also have snacks/bait/beer/ice/gas etc. Campers and outdoor enthusiasts may enjoy the South Toledo Bend State Park which is only 14 miles away.

It was absolutely relaxing! We enjoyed the quietness. The house was a great size for my family of 4. Only thing I wish it had was a washer and dryer. My legs hurt from climbing up and down the stares but I got a good workout in. The house had all the basic you need.

My family very much enjoyed the property. The children loved the kayaks and canoes. We enjoyed fishing, sitting by the fire and grilling food. The house was clean and had everything that we could need. The owner was very kind and easy to communicate with. We would love to return to the property!

Relaxing the right way

Wonderful property!!! We saw eagles, Canadian geese, caught fish on the dock with my 4 year old. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to unwind and recenter.

Great quiet spot to unwind

Steel Magnolia is exactly as advertised. Quaint cabin right on the lake with a dock to tie up your boat. My husband, son, and I went for a long fishing weekend and would go back without hesitation. The drive from the main highway takes some time, especially pulling a boat, but the drive makes the cabin more secluded. The drive does have a decent slope, so be weary in wet conditions.

3 years running. Had a good time. Sorry to see the recliner was gone and gas grill not there. Was going to stay again next year, but already taken for the days we normally stay. Overall we had a quiet stay.

Hello! I grew up spending my summers and holidays at my Grandparents’ home on Toledo Bend; so the lake and that area has always held a very special place in my heart. While browsing online one day we found this beautiful home and couldn’t pass it up! We currently work and live overseas and spend our time there when we are in the states, but while we are not there it’s only fair to share this beautiful home and stunning sunsets with others.

Why they chose this property

We bought this home sight unseen from 8000 miles away based on an online listing and photos . The photos did not do the home justice and the home was even better than we'd imagined! We could not be more pleased and it is everything you could want in a lake house. Peaceful, beautiful, and FUN but all the while it has the distinct feeling of home from the moment you walk in the door! You'll feel homesick as soon as you leave and want to come back again and again.
