About the host
Hosted by Bola Akinsanya
My family and I are based in San Francisco, but my husband grew up in Marion and that is where all the cousins and grandparents are. We love hosting and have hosted for almost 13 years around the US. Our favorite thing to do is escape the San Francisco fog in July and head down to New England for a proper summer. The rest of the time, we love to share our space with others.
Why they chose this property
Marion is the best kept secret as is the private beach which is a walk down a path behind the house. If you have your license you can Quahog and walk out to the other side of the ocean during low tide. Downtown Marion itself is really quaint with some of the best restaurants just a stone's throw away. You can avoid all the Cape traffic, but easily catch the Ferry to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket for day trips.
What makes this property unique
The property is a 1920s fishing cottage. We fully gutted most of the house to ensure their was proper heating and cooling, insulation, and vaulted ceilings to give the space an open air feel. It packs a full punch in just 850sqft and has a mix of traditional and modern styling. I am passionate about design and quality goods, so we've stocked it full of all the elements we enjoy. From a Vitamix blender to french laguiole cutlery and 100% linen sheets with high end mattresses and blue air filters in every room. We've curated a space that is truly our home away from home.
