Please look us up again when you come back for another reunion. We would love to host you and your friends again. Be well and thank you for the review.
The house is lovely and quaint. It is near town and within walkable distance. For the most part, we really enjoyed our stay. The one thing I need to point out is that the upstairs is not air-conditioned. One of the people staying with us had to actually sleep on the couch because it was just too hot to sleep in her room for the weekend. I loved the place but would definitely not stay there during the summer again. Even trying to turn the air way down downstairs did not help the upstairs be any cooler.

Thank you so much for allowing us to host you. The experience of our guests is paramount. While we are disappointed you didn’t tell us you were experiencing some concern while you were with us, we understand. Despite the home’s age of 125 years and our efforts to preserve its history, there has been central air conditioning installed throughout home including all room upstairs. When the home was cleaned after you left, we found the vents upstairs closed. That may have contributed to your experience. Columbus had been unusually hot (nearly 100 degrees) and it is true an upstairs area will be warmer. We do have sensors throughout the house as well that continuously read temperatures in the 70s. All bedrooms rooms have ceiling fans and additional tower fans have been provided upstairs. However, we strive to exceed expectations and are investigating installation of additional mini splits to support hot summers in the historical home that is 125 years old. Thank you once again for staying with us.
A Wonderful Stay in Columbus’s Historic District! We were in Columbus for a large gathering of family and friends - with several of us renting different Vrbo properties throughout the historic district. I had the opportunity to visit five of them and ours was by far my favorite! The home was lovely and perfectly suited to our needs. We were fortunate to have gorgeous October weather and the front porch quickly became our favorite place to relax and spend time together. We walked everywhere, including at night and always felt safe. Safety and cleanliness are my two top priorities and this home delivered on both!Just two small things worth mentioning. The upstairs might get a little warm during the hotter months. The house has central air conditioning, but we didn’t notice any vents upstairs. Since we didn’t need the AC during our stay, I can’t say whether this would actually be an issue. Also, we would have loved to open the windows to enjoy the beautiful weather, but they appeared to be painted shut. That may be intentional and certainly wasn’t a problem for us.Neither of these minor observations would keep me from returning. I travel to Columbus regularly and would happily stay here again. Of all the properties I visited during our gathering, this one was the standout!

Ashley - we were honored to be able to host you and we are so pleased you loved the home.
This home was built in 1898 and we have worked to preserve its history. There are a/c vents in both bedrooms upstairs. They are located on the wall next to the televisions mounted above the fireplace.
You are correct about the windows. These have intentionally been sealed because they have the original wavy glass. These glass panes are 100 years old and very fragile. Since the windows are old wood framed and weighted, if they are not opened perfectly level, the glass is at risk to break. We felt it best to be able to preserve these beautiful features of the home by sealing the windows. We wish we could offer the ability to open them windows too but believe this is the best option to ensure the beauty of this home lasts for 100 more years!!
Please let us know if you’d like to return. We be happy to have you.
Again, thank you for the kind words. We work hard to ensure our guest experience is great.
My family stayed at this beautiful home for a weekend trip. The home was very clean! We didn't take advantage of the kitchen on this trip but it was well equipped. One of the smoke alarms battery was low and started beeping. Lesli sent someone to take care of it right away! The pictures of this home do not do it justice! For a 1900 home had been a lot of effort to provide modern conviences to guest. The house is close to restaurants and the river walk. I would definitely stay here again!
