Ocean House 1203 2 bedroom 2 bath gulf-front

Ocean House #1203 is an interior gulf-front 2 bedroom 2 bath condominium located on the 2nd floor in building I overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The unit is approximately 1000 sq ft with views of the gulf from the living room and gulf-side master bedroom. The condo has a fully equipped kitchen with washer and dryer. There are 2 full baths with either a tub/shower combo or stand-alone shower. The gulf-side master bathroom is accessed via the bedroom and hallway. The street-side bedroom has an attached bathroom with a stand-up shower.

Ocean House I and II are 9 story buildings with 6 units per floor located 1 mile West of Highway 59 in Gulf Shores. Ocean House has a large seasonal zero-entry outdoor pool and small kiddie pool. The property also has a grilling area that services both buildings I and II. Minimum age required: 23. Sleeps 6.

Parking passes are purchased on-site at Ocean House at guard house or office located in building I - CASH ONLY. There is a maximum of 2 parking passes per unit and cost is set by the association and is subject to change at any time without notice.

This rental comes with our 'Stay and Play Package', which includes complimentary tickets to the best area activities including; golfing, deep sea fishing, dolphin/nature cruise, amusement park, zoo and movie rentals. Each rental comes with our "Stay and Play package." Some restrictions apply.

*The 'Stay and Play Package' begins on the scheduled date of arrival and is not available on day of departure. Services are non-cumulative and non-transferable. All services are subject to change, subject to availability, and weather permissible. The 'Stay and Play Package' does not apply to monthly rentals.

Beach getaway

Our family enjoyed a wonderful oceanfront getaway. We had a wonderful oceanside view from our balcony. The pool was awesome! The bed was comfy. The only drawback was our neighbors next door smoking weed non stop. I guess they couldn't read the sign on their door thar clearly stated no smoking . I'd definitely stay there again .

The place was nice but they had absolutely nothing in regards to spices etc and maybe they can’t. Dishwasher wouldn’t drain and the rugs on the kitchen and living room turned out feet black so may want to change those out ,but other than that it was a perfect get away and reasonably priced.

Great location. Pool was nice. Bed was so so. I would suggest supplying some spices like salt and pepper. There was nothing and I mean nothing but dishes etc. My husband was walking in his bare feet after his shower and they turned black from I assume the carpet by TV and kitchen. Maybe change those out. Other than that it was a nice trip. Thank you

GREAT view!

We really enjoyed our stay at Ocean House. Our unit was on the second floor and it was almost like staying right on the sand! Everything was clean, the area was quiet, and the check in and out process was very easy with the app. We would definitely stay again on a future trip.

Great Stay!

Enjoyed our 9 day stay. Here for softball tournament. Wish pool didn't close at 10. Midnight would be better. Will return again next year.

The kitchen was in good order, provided with the basic appliances. As always, Gulf Shores Rentals were polite and efficient. A problem with this unit that has already reported was still present. It might be a problem for families with small children. The sliding door from the living room to the balcony does lock. My concern was for security. Fortunately I had in my car, a 32-1/2 inch rod that fit nicely in the door track, securing it nicely. Other than that the stay was perfect.

Some things could have been better

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The retrieval of the package was easy, but NOT at the property itself. There is a building 1 and 2 and no map of what floors the rooms are on. A brief instruction would have helped our arrival on what floor our room was on. No one in office or security booth, notes everywhere about needing a parking permit and to call a number if no one is around. I called twice with no answer. I was little worried about my van getting towed, till the second day when i seen a guy walking around the parking lots and he got my 30$ for a pass. After the first night we noticed a really bad water leak that looked like it was coming from a new water heater. After reporting it, a tech was onsite ASAP, but only took the closet door off, pulled carpet back and cut out padding. He said to leave it like that to dry out and the company who installed the water heater will be back to fix it. No one came back and no further communication from company. The one bedroom wasn’t very pleasant with a closet door leaning against the wall and carpet pulled up. The rest of the condo was very nice. It had all the cooking utensils needed for our stay. The washer and dryer ran everyday. I really liked being on the 2nd floor, so we didn’t have to use the elevator everytime. The unit had great views of the gulf and swimming area. I would stay in this unit again in the future, specially now that i know the ropes. The hot water heater experience wasn’t good at all, but feel it was a one off and management will communicate better with quest after reading this review.

Some issues with this unit

This unit was nice, but the entry door keys were very difficult to use. It’s disappointing considering this was a complaint made by a former guest 4 months prior to our stay. The property manager was helpful in delivering us two keys that worked slightly better. There was also a problem with making/receiving phone calls in the building itself. We had to make calls from the parking lot, pool or even the beach. But nothing would go through even on the balcony. We’ve stayed in Ocean House 2 before and never had issues, so I was surprised to experience that in Ocean House 1. It made it difficult to field a few work issues while we were there. I noticed 2 other people making calls outside their units, so I’m not sure if this was more of a building wide issue or not. The unit was nice besides those issues, but they were significant enough for us that we won’t rent this unit again.

Beach Vacation 2022

This was a very nice condo and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only draw back was we had to use a key instead of a key pad on the door. The traffic is rough sometimes and getting to the place to get the key can be time consuming. Plus making sure you have the key with you coming on and off the beach is a little aggravating. We have stayed at Ocean House before and had the key pad and definitely preferred that method.

The Bad: 1)Entry door lock was terrible, was very difficult to lock and unlock EVERY time, it's 2022 should not be using keys/ upgrade to keypad ASAP. 2) the sofa bed sheets did not fit and no blanket, we gave up sheet and blanket from other bed. 3) At 4am EVERY Day the garbage Truck VERY LOUD came to collect the garbage right outside our door and woke us up everyday. 4) 1st condo Ive ever had to pay to park at the complex, we had 2 vehicles is was $60 for the 5 days. If you can deal with all that the condo is nice and location is great.
