The cabin was beautiful and well-kept. Some of the TVs and game consoles were inoperable but there were plenty of board games to keep the kids busy. We enjoyed our quiet getaway in this spacious cabin!

Great vacation location
Great location just outside the town of Idyllwild. Beautiful views from every room and the expansive deck. Home sleeps 6-7 comfortably. Kitchen has ample storage, pot/pans and gas stove. Close to numerous hiking trails and Lake Hemet. Sunsets were unbelievable!
It’s a long, windy road uphill getting there, but the views are spectacular. Big deck is great - we spent a lot of time there. Wood stove in the main room heats things up in the chilly evenings and mornings. Homey and comfortable.
Lovely house which worked well for six adults and a dog. House is on a hillside so be prepared for many steps to reach the house from the road - fine for us though. Nice welcoming touches.

House on the Hill
We loved our stay. The house is spacious with great bedrooms, living areas and a wonderfully equipped kitchen. Even though the house is large, there are quiet get away places. The patios are fabulous and the views from the large windows are beautiful. We felt like we were living in the treetops. Just don’t bring great grandma…three stories require lots of stairs. Would love to come back again.
The property, itself, was fine. The house is large with master bedroom downstairs (with a bathroom), the upstairs has another bedroom (with a bathroom across the hall) whose mattress needs to be replaced (dips in the middle), and there is a loft on the third floor with 2 twin beds. The problem I had was that check-in wasn't until 4:00 p.m. yet check-out was 10:00 a.m. There was no budge on these times. Also, I never was able to speak with the property owner/manager; it was through a call-service who did nothing other than scan the listing and tell me adjustments to the check-in/check-out times were not permitted. Also, even though I found the property through VRBO, it directed me to Vacasa to finalize the booking which provided a receipt. What they didn't mention (nor was it included in the Vacasa receipt) was that VRBO charges another 134 on top of that.

We’re glad you found the property spacious and well-appointed. We will speak with the homeowner regarding the sinking mattress to consider a replacement. Early check-in is available when the home becomes ready, and late check-out can be added to most reservations. We appreciate your comments and hope to provide a smoother experience in the future.
Lovely property. The location is isolated, especially relative to the other properties around it. The top deck is nestled among the pines and you can watch birds and squirrels during the day, or watch the bats collect bugs at night. The spacious property allowed for plenty of room to enjoy. Very clean, and the kitchen was well equipped. AC/heating worked well. We had a lovely stay and hope to be back.

Perfect cabin
Everything you could need. We had an incredible white Christmas together at this beautiful spot. Tips; buy ample firewood for the living room fireplace/wood burning stove. We went through about 3/4 bundles a day to enjoy a roaring fire/ stay cozy throughout.
The downstairs gas fireplace is not available for use.
10/10 recommend!

Beautiful Home
This cabin is quite spacious. Check-in/check-out was easy. All kitchen implements needed were there. Overall, the place was clean except the deck and outside furniture which was quite dirty. There were no cleaning supplies available so I couldn’t clean it myself. The driveway is quite steep. I can’t even imagine trying to use it in the winter.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would stay again.

Great Mountain Getaway Among the Trees!
We had a great time in Idyllwild staying at this cabin in the woods. It was a very quiet spot and the best feature is the balcony where we sat and watched birds, butterflies, and other wildlife in the beautiful trees and after the sunsets, bats and the clear nigh full of stars. Kitchen was very functional, did lots of cooking. Tons of space for the four of us with two dogs. It was over 90 degrees during the day so it was a warm weekend. Enjoyed our stay very much overall! Would love to return during the colder winter months. Some windows could use some screens and the door to the balcony could use a more permanent screen.

Short Getaway
The house is spacious and quite comfortable, with one bedroom on each floor. The kitchen is very well-equipped, and there are lots of extra towels and blankets. It’s in a nice neighborhood, with downtown Idyllwild a short drive away. The main deck is a nice place to relax, but the outdoor furniture had not been wiped down in quite a while. (The table, in particular, was very dirty.) Also, guests are required to take away their trash at the end of the stay, which means driving about 15 minutes south to the dump, open just half the week, or taking it down the mountain. It seems like this is something the management company should take care of, given all the extra fees that are charged.

nice place to spend your vacation, better with a little more attention
The location is awesome. rooms are big enough for up to 7 ppl. The kitchen has everything you may need during your stay.
These must be noted by the owner:
when you rent the property for 6 ppl, the service needs to be provided for 6 ppl or extra. we have found only 5 sets of towels, also there were not enough soap or shampoo for 6ppl 4 days! we used course. also, there were no extra blankets to use. it is good to provide some extra ones, especially in winter.
The property has light and electricity issues. Most of the bulbs were burned and not working. we couldn't take a shower during the night. one of the rooms didn't have any light!
and the last thing, a vacation house needs to have a BBQ and fire pit.

No Backyard, Dirty and too many stairs
There were cobwebs all over the inside and outside of the property. Big black ants in the kitchen and near the rear door. We found a dirty sock on a couch behind a pillow. The outside furniture is dirty and dusty- we had to clean it to use it. The cooking pans are lacking too. The backyard is steep and not fenced for dogs. Also, there are a lot of stairs to get to the house so carrying items into the cabin is very difficult- thank goodness we have teenagers. The bedroom at the top does not have blinds so the sun shines right through. We made the best of it and had a good time but we would not rent this cabin again.

Wonderful cabin but maintained poorly
we loved the feeling that the cabin was up in the trees. There is 43 stairs from the top of the driveway to the fridge & kitchen on the second floor. Great kitchen except the Fluorescent lights didn't work, they flickered plus the wiring to them was exposed, not to code. Driveway is waaay steeper than the picture shows. Burned rubber getting up it. The window & door screens were either torn or ready to fall off. This made it difficult to cool the cabin down as the afternoon sun heats the 2nd & 3rd floors. Cant ventilate cooler air through torn screen or mosquitos get in. 1st floor tub drained so slow stood in 4 inches of water during shower. Tried to call number in household info folder. Left message but no one called back. Great place, I actually loved it, even with the above problems.
Make sure those problems are repaired before you rent it. Oh, and i found a short trail up the road past the dead end. Fun to explore.

Not so great
The cabin had it's ups and downs, and in retrospect it met most of our needs. Just a few things to point out:
I paid an expensive "cleaning fee" and the cabin was not exactly clean. Fingerprints over a lot of the stuff in kitchen and bathroom. There were sewing pins literally sticking up out of the carpet for some reason (thankfully we noticed before stepping on them). The deck looked like it had some kind of insecticide sprayed all over the furniture so we avoided that.
The internet did not work at all. I am very familiar with home networks and attempted to troubleshoot. No combination of resetting or rearranging of cables helped.
The deck actually overlooks a cul de sac, not forest as some of the picture indicate. There was a large group renting an adjacent home for some kind of filming, we could hear them loudly for a lot of our stay.
...It's a funky little cabin. Could easily sleep 12+ people comfortably. I might consider another visit if I have a big group. But as a way to wind down a vacation with my GF, it was not ideal.
