During longer stays, you may briefly see one of us outside watering plants or bringing bins to the curb, especially if your stay includes a Wednesday night.

About the host
Hosted by Debbie and Paul Bied
We love welcoming guests to historic homes in Mystic that feel warm, personal, and full of character. As longtime locals with a deep appreciation for antique houses, maritime history, and old-fashioned hospitality, we’ve poured our hearts into preserving these special places so you can enjoy a stay that feels both nostalgic and comfortable.
We know time away is precious, and you want more than a place to sleep. You want a home that feels inviting the moment you arrive and comfortable enough to enjoy not only between adventures, but during the quiet in-between moments that often become the most memorable parts of a trip.
For us, hosting is about creating a setting where you can slow down, reconnect, and feel genuinely cared for. Whether you’re visiting Mystic for a romantic getaway, a celebration, a family visit, or simply a change of scenery, we want your stay to feel easy, restful, and meaningful.
Why they chose this property
We chose this property because it offers something increasingly rare: true New England character, a peaceful setting, and a sense of history you can feel the moment you arrive.
Located in Old Mystic, the original settlement of Mystic, this home gives you a quieter and more relaxed experience while still keeping you close to downtown, local dining, and the area’s favorite attractions. It offers the best of both worlds: easy access to adventure and a welcoming place to return to at the end of the day.
We know one of the biggest questions when booking a rental is whether it will simply be a place to sleep, or a place you will truly enjoy spending time in. This is the kind of home where you can head out exploring and look forward to coming back, or stay in and savor a cozy meal, a quiet morning, a movie, or a good book. We fell in love with this neighborhood for its timeless charm, rich history, and the way it invites you to slow down and savor the moment, and we think you’ll feel that too.
What makes this property unique
What makes this property special is the feeling of staying somewhere with a true sense of place.
Each of our Mystic homes is inspired by the area’s maritime past, with thoughtful details that reflect the stories of sailors, ship smiths, coopers, woodcarvers, riggers, and whalers who once shaped this coastal community. Rather than offering you a generic stay, we aim to create an experience that feels rooted in history while still offering the comforts that help you settle in and relax.
Here, you’ll find the charm and soul of an antique home paired with modern comforts and heartfelt hospitality. It is the kind of place that feels welcoming after a day out and cozy enough to make you want to linger a little longer. We often think of it as the hospitality version of homemade apple pie: warm, comforting, and memorable in all the right ways.
Time away is a rare gift, and we believe where you stay should be part of what makes the trip special. Our hope is that your time here feels restful, personal, and full of the kind of simple moments you’ll remember long after you return home.
