Other Things to Note:

What to bring with you!- You're coming to a wilderness area to vacation and if you plan your vacation well you will have a positive experience. In the summertime May and through the middle of June can tend to be cooler early morning and toward the evening hours. Make sure to bring a jacket and long pants you can change into when needed. Bring a pair of tie up shoes to protect your feet. Shoes likes flip flops or sandals will not protect your feet when you are out exploring. Layering your clothing is a good idea and then if your too warm you can take off clothing as needed. At least this way when departing your cabin early morning to go site seeing you will have what you need with you. July and August are pretty warm and you should still bring a light jacket. The rest of the year you will want to bring heavier jackets and long underwear, snow suits etc. You will need to bring your private toiletries like bar soap and shampoo as we do not provide this for you. Cabins are equipped with everything else you should need except food of course. Snow tires and four-wheel-drive are recommended for traveling in Eastern Idaho during the winter. Road conditions can change quickly, and even well-traveled highways are occasionally closed by blizzards or high winds. Before setting out, check the Transportation Department's website or call 511 for an automated, up-to-the-minute status of all thoroughfares. Wise motorists will also carry emergency gear (shovel, snack bars, water, blankets) in their vehicles to be ready for any contingency. Coming Snowmobiling? A reminder to anyone traveling back country areas whether skiing, snowmobiling or hiking: Remember the time of year, exercising all back country cautions. Take necessary equipment and survival gear when venturing into the back country. If you have a GPS and cell phone, be sure to take them with you, but do not rely on them entirely for a safe rescue if you find yourself in trouble or stranded. Cell phones should be kept close to your body & turned off to keep the battery full, so it's not searching for a signal & running the battery down. Avalanche Transceivers and equipment, knowing what the avalanche conditions are, and knowing skills to save lives are a must for everyone entering back country riding or traveling. Plan ahead. Make sure you know the area you are going into before heading into it. If you find yourself in trouble, stop, take a look around you, and do not go any further. The further you go the more complicated and dangerous it is to get yourself to safety, also making rescue efforts more difficult and dangerous. Make mental notes in relation to any physical features or landmarks that would assist in your rescue. Make a plan, stick to your plan, narrow the riding area, & most of all...let someone know WHERE you are planning to go!

Beautiful property.... Could have used AC on the last day but are do!

Wonderful property! No AC wasn't crucial but would have been nice on one day when it warmed up a bit! We made do and will definately return! Thank you HomeAway!

Beautiful property!!

This lake house was everything we expected and more! Location on the lake was so tranquil. Sunrises over the water were spectacular. A few minor suggestions-the regular coffee maker could use replacing. No lid and the hot plate doesn’t seem to be working. We tried to use the fireplace and after four days discovered it turns on with the heat! We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this fantastic lake house.

BEAUTIFUL LAKEFRONT HOME!

My family had a wonderful vacation and we really appreciated how fully equipped the kitchen was for cooking and preparing all our meals. the view was to die for. there were some things i wanted to bring up that i think are very important for future guests to know about as well as for management to fix 1. the directions given to us were horrible. google maps was more accurate than what the management gave us. we were lost for almost an hour and a half. we were looking for the home based on the pictures listed on VRBO which also were not accurate at all. the picture showed a white houser with blue trimmings yet house was brown. this kept throwing us off as we were driving in circles to locate the house. 2. the 4pm check in was way too late. because we got lost (due to bad directions) we did not get to the house until 15 min to 7pm. that is a whole day wasted, which was a shame. 3. the railings on the main deck was broken and for safety reasons management should fix that issue before renting out to anyone else. we had a young child with us and she could have easily gone through the broken railing and fallen. that would have been extremely dangerous and obviously a liability issue. 4. the front walkway to the dock was immersed under water. we had to grab the stones around just to create a walk way so that we could go on the dock without getting our pants completely wet. my husband lifted large rocks to create a safe walkway for my family. for those reasons i gave the home 4 stars . if we had not encountered those pretty serious issues we would have given the home 10 stars. the home itself was beautiful and the location can't be beat. the hottub was amazing and very clean and hot and much appreciated after a long day of sightseeing in yellowstone park. my family went fishing every night and caught so much trout. all in all i would highly highly recommend this home once management fixes the issues my family encountered.

Perfect Spot!

Our family spent a long weekend at the South Shore house and had a wonderful stay! The home is beautiful; when you walk in, the view of the lake takes your breath away! The home is roomy and has a great layout for lots of people to spread out. The deck, gas fire pit, and hot tub topped off the home. Being on the water and having a large dock and beach area for the kids to play on made it perfect for us. There is no AC, but there were plenty of fans, so it never seemed to get too hot. My only suggestion would be for the outside of the house. The yard looks to be neglected some. There were a lot of prickly weeds in the grass, so the little kids always had to have shoes on. The landscaping could use some care. Other than that, it was a perfect spot for our family. We will definitely be coming back!

The Perfect FILTHY Cabin

Every year we rent a cabin for our Thanksgiving. This year Island park was chosen. I have never written a bad review on vrbo till now. A few days before we arrived we were notified by Cheri from enchanted that the WIFI was down.. That was ok with us since it is a family outing and we want our grown kids hang with us and not play on their electronic devices. Since my husband and I arrived before our kids we always check out the whole house. Move Breakables out of reach since there are two 2 year olds (grandbabies) I had to clean all the window sills. Omg.. covered in dust/dead flies/spider webs and cobwebs. Sweep the floors. ect, The hot tub had not been drained or cleaned, There were floaties in it and half the jets were broken. All that was done to make it ready was to turn it on and put too much chemical in it and that can make people sick ( I know I always bring my own test strips from home since we have a spa) . Hot tub was out of the question. The Dish/Direct TV did not work. WE got one channel. We were ok with that too since we bring Christmas movies. (Family time) The outdoor gas fire pit could not be turned on. S'mores were taken off the plans. The main floor fireplace would not turn on so they came out and fixed it. I should have waited and gave the man a list but my heavens who wants a maintenance man hanging around all day while you are on vacation? All of these things should have been checked off as working prior to our checking in This cabin looked like it was closed for winter without having a good cleaning. ( cob webs were everywhere) We had a huge issue with spiders.. Then opened up for us with only the heat being turned on. One thing that was odd is the fact we rented this cabin in the winter and there was not a snow shovel anywhere for us to clean the snow off walk way or deck. All in all the cabin Was the Perfect filthy cabin. The kids loved fishing, playing in the snow with the grandbabies and shooting pool. I hope the rental managers hire a better house cleaning company. We would rent this cabin again in a heart beat if we were assured it was clean. After all it was the perfect cabin. Cin & Stu, November 2016

Lake home was beautiful!

It is often hard to know what you're getting when trying to rent something online. This home was EXACTLY what I expected and what I was told. It is a beautiful home on the lake with everything the group of 8 I was with needed. I travel to the mountains in the winter every year to ride snowmobiles and I will be back to this home. Thank you!!!

Love IP Reservoir

This incredible property on the banks of IP Reservoir is a dream home for anyone who loves water sports, four wheeling, snowmobiling or just soaking up the beauty of Island Park. The house is luxuriously furnished, fully equipped and the perfect place to start any number of adventures. The lake dock kept our boat safe and instantly ready for the glass that the lake offered our slalom skiers. We wore ourselves out on that damn lake. Then we relaxed in the hot tub and the massive deck with both real fire and gas fire pits. We stayed up so late into the night with these that we seldom used the big screen TV and satellite service. LOVED IT!
