Newly constructed from a storage container, this home is a contemporary, light-filled space, with electric heating and cooling, a Smart TV with Netflix and Pandora, and an open, elegant kitchen with stainless steel appliances and sleek cabinetry. Whether you're planning to spend your days hiking, windsurfing, or taking long drives through the Gorge, this is a wonderful place to come home to, with a kitchen island where you can set out your appetizers and a separate sun-lit dining table for homemade dinners.

You'll find this home in the very heart of Cascade Locks, with driveway parking out front, an electric vehicle charging station nearby, and a stop for the Columbia Gorge Express (the bus from Portland) only a block away. There's much within walking distance, including classic burgers and ice cream at the Eastwind Drive-In (a quarter-mile north), the Pacific Crest Trail (a quarter-mile south), the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail (also a quarter-mile south), and Marine Park at the river's edge (less than half a mile north). Take a day to drive 19 miles east to Hood River for world-class windsurfing and a wondrous collection of orchards and vineyards, or cross the Bridge of the Gods to hike Beacon Rock or Hamilton Mountain on the Washington side of the Gorge (eight miles west).

The kitchen was so well-stocked with the basic seasonings and every pot, pan and utensil I needed. Being in the middle of town, on a quiet street, was just perfect. It was so convenient to have the little store across the street. The home was much more spacious than I had imagined. 5 out of 5 stars - I would definitely stay here again!

This is a super cute little house and we throughly enjoyed our stay. It was clean and organized when we arrived and everything was exactly as described in the listing. The location was perfect for us to do the Bridge of the Gods Half Marathon in Cascade Locks. The town was cute and everyone was so friendly. Thirsty Coffee shop was a favorite early in the morning. Views from the deck were amazing. Would definitely stay here again!

Friend's trip

Three friends spent two days exploring the area in search of wildflowers. We had a great time at the container house, it was clean and comfortable, awesome location in town and great views! So many things to see around the area. We enjoyed walking to the coffee shop and brewery and ventured over to Thunder Island too.

Super cute double container home, had plenty of room. Originally booked for just me, but then my son and a bunch of his friend showed up. We were all accommoded dated fairly well. Great location right in the middle of Cascade locks within a 5 minute walk of several eating options, shopping, arcade, and many other things. Quite possibly the best spot in that little town.

This house made from shipping containers is light and modern. Very comfortable and just steps from downtown Cascade Locks. Walk half a block to the Thirsty Coffee Bar for some truly great coffee.

Refrigerator crisp and freezer drawers were dirty w/food stains which I had to clean myself in order to store my food items. Bathroom had spiderwebs and several spiders. Big window to left of front door looking out front was missing curtains and privacy was uncomfortable! Front door digital lock was a BIG problem in order to get in property and we ended up getting locked out on our last night in freezing 34 degrees temperature round 11pm w/my elderly mother, NOT HAPPY about this. It took forever to get assistance from the after hours call center. Kitchen trash can was broken missing foot pedal and lid wouldn’t secure properly. There were several drywall damages around bathroom/utility doors. There was dry-rotted material in corner below on the outside of bathtub next to toilet. I also reported these damages to Vacasa.
