About this property

Renovated home in central location with hot tub, theater, fast wifi & work desks

Summary:

The Wing Haus

The Space:

Stay in luxury in this newly remodeled three-level house, walking distance to every restaurant, coffee shop, bar, farmers market, and swimming beach in the cozy town of Stevenson, Washington! This spacious home is tuned for remote work, with fiber internet and 4 desks - but also optimized for relaxation with a brand new hot tub, new luxury kitchen, basement gym, projector movie theater, and cozy touches all around. There's plenty of room for everyone with 4 bedrooms, plus a couch in the basement that pulls into a queen-sized bed.

Central heat and A/C will keep you cool during the heat waves and cozy in the winter, and for extra heat, there's an electric fireplace in the downstairs movie theater. Renovating this historic 1940 town dairy has been a 3-year labor of love, and the Owner aimed for extra touches to make it great in every room - including heated bidet seats, TVs in every room (and over the hot tub!), local artwork, new luxury appliances, and the coziest memory foam beds. There is plenty of space for parking, including room for multiple camper vans in the driveway.

Please note:

This is close to train tracks! There is an ordinance so the train doesn't honk, and all the windows are double-paned to reduce noise, but it is definitely noticeable when these sweet machines chug by! I've put white noise machines AND fans in every bedroom just in case you're noise-sensitive. Very light sleepers will probably be most comfortable in the rooms on the side of the house facing away from the river/train tracks or in the basement room for the full sensory deprivation sleep experience.

Nice location in a very small town with a few good options for food, and right across the road from a nice little grocery store. Be aware, though, that if you plan to do a lot of stuff on the Oregon side of the river, you're going to be paying a 3 toll every single time you cross. Train sounds seem to be ever-present, too, but that didn't bother us too much. The house was very well stocked and very clean and had very comfortable beds. The kitchen and dining area is spacious, so you won't feel like you're tripping over each other. Lots of natural light, too, which I love.On the down sides, the house has a very noticeable old house smell, the "movie room" is a dingy basement spot with a projector onto a blank wall and some pillows that definitely need to be tossed out, and none of the living room seating is comfortable enough to sit down with a book and coffee. Also, the hot tub developed a very strong sulfur/dead animal smell. Maintenance came by to fix it, but the smell returned that same evening. And ownership is by a management company, so communication is prompt but not personal.Overall a nice enough house with everything you'd need for a stay and more, with some caveats and a price higher than I've paid before for similar homes.

Thank you, Jereme, for sharing your thoughts about your stay with us. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the location and found the house well stocked and clean, with comfortable beds and a spacious kitchen and dining area. It’s wonderful that the natural light added to your experience. We truly appreciate your feedback regarding the old house smell and the movie room setup. We understand how important these details are for a comfortable stay, and we’re committed to addressing them. The hot tub issue is certainly concerning, and we’re sorry it didn’t meet your expectations. We’ll ensure our maintenance team looks into this further to prevent it from happening again. We also recognize that our communication style may feel different from what you’re used to, and we’re always striving to make it as personal and warm as possible. Your insights help us improve, and we’re grateful for your understanding. We hope you’ll consider staying with us again in the future, as we’d love the opportunity to provide you with an even better experience.

It was so close to the water front where our son's Bridge of the Gods competition was held. The house is really nice inside and we had everything we needed.
