Our stay at La Casita del Muelle was a significant disappointment due to the lack of responsiveness of the property owner. When we arrived in Gran Canaria on Monday, 21 September 2026, we were immediately informed by the host, Francisco, that the air conditioning unit was not working properly but that the replacement part had been ordered but there was no solution offered beyond that. In addition, there was no unit installed in the bedroom, so there was no adequate ventilation at all throughout the apartment. There were patio doors, but they lacked screens for us to leave the doors open at night as a temporary accommodation. For context, every day was very hot and humid, so having air conditioning or offering a lodging alternative were necessities. Each day, we reached out to inquire about the status of repair, only to be informed by Francisco that the repairman was working on it. Each day, there was no resolution. There were apologies, but there was no acceptance of responsibility. We also requested the contact information of the owner, but that was not provided. It is our understanding that Francisco attempted to contact the owner for guidance but was unsuccessful in doing so. He attempted to provide updates, but he was not the owner, who could have and should have immediately addressed the issues and provided viable solutions for us during our vacation experience in Gran Canaria. Temperature in the apartment was 32 degrees Celsius.
