Completely renovated, AC & heat everywhere, lots of comfy beds, great deck with grill and fire ring, fast WiFi, king bedroom for the parents, fun guest room with 1 queen, 1 full & 1 twin, full bath & 1/2 bath. Walk to restaurants, shops, grocery stores, and even the College! Incredibly well designed home can comfortably accommodate a couple or a crowd! Brand new 55" Smart TV, new beds, linens, sofas, etc.

After you enter the charming foyer through the namesake Purple Door you will be welcomed into a Great Room that includes luxe furnishings in an open floor plan that combines a living room and a spacious remote work area, all connected to the beautiful kitchen area with large island and dining/chatting counter. The Great Room is heated and cooled and includes a gas fired wood stove, and there is a half bath adjacent. The fully appointed kitchen area connects the Great Room to a cozy family room with a queen sleeper sofa, beautiful barn doors, and a cherry dining set for 4. The family room overlooks a large deck area with a fire ring, grill, and outdoor dining.

The second floor includes 2 bedrooms and a full bath. The primary bedroom is furnished with a brand new king bed. The guest room is furnished with a brand new queen bed and also has a very cozy built in bunk bed structure with one full mattress and one twin. The guest room includes a smart TV so the kids can watch a movie while the game is on downstairs! Both bedrooms have closets, nightstands, and dressers.

Work from home at our beautiful desk on the first floor, with super-fast wifi up to 1200 Mbps!

On site parking is limited to one vehicle and there is additional parking a few hundred yards away.

Guests have access to everything except for the basement and the shed behind the home.

Guests must be able to walk up and down a few stairs to get into the home. There is a flight of stairs up to the main bedrooms. The home is adjacent to the oldest home in Middlebury and that home, unfortunately, is unoccupied. At certain times of year it is unsightly but not dangerous.

The home is in the heart of Middlebury, within yards of the legendary restaurant, Fire & Ice, as well as one block from Middlebury's classic town green and countless shops and restaurants. From the home you can walk to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and every service you could possibly need including post office and banks. With its stately brick and stone buildings along the gently sloping town green and cascading falls of the Otter Creek, Middlebury is a must-see destination for culture, shopping, recreation and overnight stays. You can easily walk to the College campus, and the train station is only one block away. There are two churches nearby and when the church bells ring they can be heard in the cottage.

The home has a small parking area that is just in front of the home and is barely off the street. Parking more than one car would be very difficult. However, there is ample public parking nearby at the base of Methodist Lane, some of which is not allowed for overnight and some of which is allowed for overnight.
