This cabin has the bones of an absolute masterpiece. The original design, elegant entrance, and surrounding property are truly beautiful, making it heartbreaking to see how rundown it has become. While the rustic potential is undeniable, we left our week-long stay feeling deeply concerned about the lack of essential upkeep and safety hazards. The most urgent issue is the downstairs bathroom, which has severe mold growth that presents a genuine health hazard. Outside, the structural integrity of the entrance railing is compromised; leaning on it could easily cause someone to tumble down the hill. Furthermore, the swimming pond advertised as having no fish is actually overrun with hundreds of fish and a very thick layer of algae, making it uninviting and potentially unsafe for swimming.Inside, the neglect is highly visible. The dust throughout the home is so thick that the decorative deer antlers literally look like they still have velvet on them. The kitchen is also completely unequipped to handle groups, lacking adequate cookware and dishes. To make matters worse, every single item in the kitchen drawers had to be thoroughly washed before we could use it due to poor cleanliness. This property has so much charm and could easily be a premier vacation destination. However, until the mold is professionally remediated, the exterior railings are rebuilt, and deep cleaning becomes a priority, we cannot recommend staying here in its current condition.
