In town for the Jazz Festival. Clean, contemporary 2BR/1Bth unit with kitchen and washer/dryer. Easy walk to the waterfront and main stage. Secure, off site parking only 1 block away. Nearby Urban Market grocer, local coffee shops (Weird Harbour & Wired Monk) and a cute independent cafe (Bird’s Nest). Unit overlooks a busy street, so expect some city background noise. Would recommend for solo traveler or couple.

About the host
Hosted by Jeffrey Boudreau
I’m a proud Haligonian, born and raised right here in Halifax. I’ve lived in this city my entire life and couldn’t imagine calling anywhere else home. After spending 10 years working in the hospitality and hotel industry, I developed a real passion for creating exceptional guest experiences. That background taught me what truly makes a stay memorable — thoughtful details, genuine care, and going the extra mile.
Hosting at this building is my way of sharing the city I love with visitors from all over the world. Whether it’s recommending the best hidden gems, ensuring the apartment is perfectly prepared, or making sure you have everything you need for a comfortable stay, I’m committed to making your time in Halifax special. When I’m not hosting, you’ll usually find me exploring the waterfront, trying new restaurants, or enjoying the ever-changing harbour views that still take my breath away after all these years
I look forward to welcoming you!
Why they chose this property
I chose the heart of downtown Halifax at 1585 Barrington Street (Green Lantern) because it perfectly blends urban energy with coastal charm. You’re steps away from the vibrant Halifax Waterfront Boardwalk, incredible restaurants, breweries, shops, theatres, and nightlife, yet just high enough above it all to enjoy complete peace. What I love most is the convenient walkability — everything is at your doorstep. In the mornings you can grab coffee and watch the harbour come alive, and in the evenings enjoy the city lights reflecting on the water. It’s the ideal mix of excitement and serenity in the best location Halifax has to offer.
What makes this property unique
These thoughtfully restored heritage suites on the Barrington Street side feature soaring high ceilings, original exposed brick walls, oversized windows, and preserved architectural details from the 1896 building. They offer bright, open-concept living spaces with modern finishes that blend historic character and warmth with contemporary comfort.
Located right in the vibrant heart of downtown Halifax, these suites put you steps from the waterfront boardwalk, restaurants, shops, and nightlife—yet they remain surprisingly quiet and peaceful thanks to the building’s solid historic construction and upper-floor positioning. Ideal for travelers or longer stays seeking authentic character, generous space, and an unbeatable central location in one of the city’s most storied buildings.
