"Zur Wied" Apartment in the Westerwald

Here we’re offering you our cosy “Apartment zur Wied.”

The cosy “Apartment zur Wied” is located in Oberlahr in the beautiful Westerwald, just about 100 metres from the Wied River. Oberlahr is situated in the Wied Valley within the Lahrer Herrlichkeit region and the Rhine-Westerwald Nature Park; there is a bakery in town, and supermarkets are about 3–5 km away. The cities of Cologne, Bonn, and Koblenz are about 40–50 minutes away and are great for a day trip or a day of shopping.

The apartment was renovated in 2022; it has a cosy, rustic style and is furnished with attention to detail. Your accommodation features a comfortable king-size box-spring bed. In addition, the apartment features a small loft accessible via a ladder. The loft has a 1.40 m mattress that can be used as a sleeping area for two children, for example. For cosy evenings, there’s a wood-burning stove in your apartment. Firewood is also provided.
In the bathroom, you’ll find a large rain shower and heated floors.
The apartment, which has its own fenced-in terrace, is located on a property of approximately 1,800 m³ with a large meadow that can be used communally. You’ll also find berry bushes, fresh herbs for cooking, bee- and butterfly-friendly meadows, shrubs, and flowers, and much more.

Here, you can truly unwind.


The nightly rate includes all applicable utilities, 1 set of bed linens, and a set of towels.

A laundry service is available for an additional fee.

Since we have a baby ourselves, almost everything for babies is available upon request.


The apartment is a standalone building with its own terrace and is accessed via a single step approximately 15 cm high.

There is a grill on the terrace.

The mattress on the loft is ideal for children, as it is relatively narrow and small up there. Two adults with two children is the ideal setup.

The apartment is about 100 m. from the Wied River, and along the river you can spend hours walking, hiking, or biking in the beautiful surroundings. The apartment’s location is perfect for dog owners and families.

In the neighbouring town of Burglahr (2 km away), there is an organic farm where you can buy fresh milk daily. On Tuesdays and Saturdays, the farm holds a farmers’ market (featuring fresh farm-grown products such as sausage, cheese, seasonal vegetables, etc.). In Schürdt (7 km away), there is a farm store that is also highly recommended. The farm store is essentially a supermarket offering products from regional businesses and farmers.

The Wied Valley around Oberlahr offers great opportunities for hiking, biking, or walking. The Grenzbachtal, the Lahrer Herrlichkeit, the Westerwaldsteig, etc., are beautiful and well worth a visit. In your apartment, you’ll find a list of the region’s most beautiful sights. We’ve also compiled a list of restaurants, delivery services, and wellness offerings in the area for you.

Pets/Dogs
Dogs are very welcome here. Unfortunately, not everyone realises that the property is not a dog toilet. Dogs may relieve themselves in the surrounding meadows. This is not permitted on the property. Furthermore, our property is not completely fenced in. Dogs must therefore be kept on a leash while on the property.
