Designed by renowned architect Joseph Esherick as one of the original Sea Ranch demonstration homes, Mini-Mod #1 embodies the modest scale, material restraint, and deep connection to the landscape that defined the early Sea Ranch vision. A later addition by acclaimed architect Donlyn Lyndon complements the original structure while preserving its architectural integrity.

The home sits on a uniquely private lot, tucked alongside a dense hedgerow that gives it a secluded, almost forest-like feel, while still opening toward the ocean. This rare positioning offers the best of both worlds: a sense of shelter and quiet, paired with fresh ocean air and partial views of the Pacific.

Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Take out the rubbish
Lock the doors
Please make sure you return all the passes (parking + rec center) we will charge $65 for any misplaced or lost pass
If pull out couch was used please remove used bedding and place it next to the couch.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Quiet hours are from 9 PM to 7 AM daily. Please be respectful of neighbors and keep noise to a minimum during these hours.
No smoking is allowed inside. Sea Ranch is a smoke-free community.
Do not leave dogs unattended unless crated. Dogs must be leashed at all time when it's outside.

Perfect house for a couple. Nice furnishings, high-end appliances, quality linens and towels. The kitchen was well-stocked with essentials like cooking oil and spices even though we always bring our own, it's nice to have all of that in case we forget anything. We loved the architecture of the house and the views. The host was easily reachable for any issues, although we had none.

Why they chose this property

Sea Ranch is unlike anywhere else on the California coast. What drew me here was the unique balance between nature, privacy, and architecture. The neighborhood is incredibly peaceful, with miles of coastal trails, ocean views, towering cypress trees, and quiet meadows all woven together in a way that feels intentional and restorative. I especially love how the homes blend naturally into the landscape and how every visit encourages you to disconnect, slow down, and appreciate the surroundings.
