"Kato Ruga" holiday home in Kerames since 1989
The house is located in a quiet residential area on the outskirts of town, on a small side street with no traffic noise. From the terrace, you’ll enjoy an unobstructed and fantastic panoramic view of the Iibysche Sea and the entire stretch of coastline.
The holiday home is ideal for a quiet and relaxing holiday in a cosy and welcoming setting. It’s just a few minutes’ drive to the stunning beaches located below the village.

Dining/Catering
There are taverns and kafenions right in the village. Good, delicious Greek food at fair prices!
Many taverns, located right by the sea, invite you to linger and enjoy typical Greek cuisine made with regional products.

Kerames is a traditional, historic village with a long history.
With about 150 residents, this village has retained its original character. Surrounded by olive groves, it lies at an elevation of about 300 metres in a uniquely beautiful landscape, with a very healthy climate, nestled against a massive mountain range. Kerames is a typical small Greek rural village with an extremely hospitable population.
All the streets in the village lead to the main square of Kerames
Here, you can also enjoy a quiet cup of coffee right by the village fountain.

You’ll spend your holiday in an authentic Cretan house, equipped with nearly all the modern conveniences of the 20th century and always kept in top condition. The home’s atmosphere will transport you into the world of the Cretans for the duration of your stay.

A very quiet location on the outskirts of town, about 300 metres above sea level, with a unique, unobstructed, fantastic view of the Libyan Sea. Dreamlike sunsets.

Very beautiful courtyard. A large bamboo canopy, covered with shady bougainvillea, provides shade. The courtyard features an outdoor shower and comfortable seating/table.

The house is furnished with everything you’d find in a typical German household!

The living room offers additional sleeping space for 2 people.
Utilities—including electricity and water—are included in the rental price specified by the landlord.

Atemberaubender Ausblick über Berge und Mittelmeer

Kreta hat uns überrascht. Berge ja, aber mit einer alpenähnlichen Landschaft hatten wir nicht wirklich gerechnet. Die Unterkunft liegt mitten in einem typischen weißen Bergdorf, frei von Autoverkehr. Bis zu den Stränden mit verschiedenen Tavernen sind es ca. 8-12 min mit dem Auto. Auto ist unabdingbar!!! Mieten Sie keinen Kleinwagen mit Spielzeugmotor (Peugeot 106, Aigo, Lupo o.ä.) unter 80PS. Sie müssen sich Straßen im Gebierge (oft nur 1,5-spurig ohne Leitplanken) zutrauen. Steigungen bis 16% Die beiden Dorfkneipen am Dorfplatz sind Treffpunkt aller und jeden Abend; ein paar Worte Griechisch sind wohlgehört; Englisch reicht zum Überleben. Planen Sie immer das doppelte an Zeit ein, wenn Sie irgendwo ein Highlight besuchen wollen. Die Durchschnittsgeschwindigkeit liegt (außerhalb der Autobahnen bei unter 40km/h. Kerames ist von den intl. Flughäfen am besten über die Autobahn am nördl. Meer bis nach Rethymnou dort die Abfahrt Spili in Richtung Süden nehmen und auf der gerade letzte Woche (21.08.23) freiggebenen Staatsstrasse in Richtung Spili. Vor bzw. nach Spili gibt es denn eine Gebirgsstraße in Richtung Kerames. Fahrzeit ca. 1h40. Das Haus der Fam. Weber (im Dorf einfach nach Robert fragen) ist auf zwei Ebenen verteilt, die ebenerdig Schlafraum und Bad/WC sowie einen schattiger Patio (große Palme und Bougainvilleadach)umfassen und über die ebenfalls außen gelegene Treppe zum Wohnzimmer sowie der praktisch eingerichteten Küche und dem Balkon mit Mittelmehrblick führt
