Thank you for your review. It’s certainly interesting that after staying for your entire reservation, not a single one of these concerns was brought to our attention. We encourage every guest—both in our welcome materials and throughout the home—to contact us immediately if something isn’t right so we can make it right. Unfortunately, we can’t fix problems we never knew existed. A few clarifications for future guests: • Our listing clearly states that this is a private downstairs unit of a historic 1930 home currently undergoing careful restoration. We even provide information inside the home explaining the ongoing preservation work. Historic homes take time, and we’re proud to be bringing this one back to life. • The upstairs apartment has its own completely separate entrance and was originally built as maid’s quarters. It is not practical or intended to be rented as one large home. • We are proudly pet-friendly, which is disclosed in our listing. The home is professionally cleaned between every stay, but on occasion a stray pet hair may be found despite our cleaners’ best efforts. • Your claim regarding cigarette smoke is simply inaccurate. No smoking is permitted anywhere inside the home, and guests who violate that policy are charged a $250 smoking fee. Our linens are freshly laundered for every guest. We’re sorry the property wasn’t the right fit for you, but we do wish these concerns had been shared during your stay instead of after checkout. That would have given us the opportunity to address them immediately rather than reading about them for the first time in a review.
