Awesome stay!!!

Would recommend this property while traveling with a group! It has all the amaneties that are needed to enjoy the stay. The location is convenient for grocery shopping and also about 45min to wolf ski resort. It is a bit tricky to arrive to the property google maps did not take us to the property but iPhone maps did take us directly.

Beautiful Views & Bears

Gorgeous views off of the decks and out the huge windows. We had several occasions when bears walked by the house; absolutely amazing. The accommodations were perfect for our family and conveniently located near downtown Black Mountain restaurants, hiking in Montreat, and close enough to get into Asheville for. Couple excursions. Hope to be back!

Excellent house in the trees. The pictures don’t do it justice. Loved the mid century modern style. House was well appointed. Beds were very comfortable. We will definitely go back.

A good value place to stay

A very convenient location. Great deck to view the scenery. Kitchen was excellent with very good appliances, including coffee grinder and new dishwasher. The age of the house was apparent in the creaking floor and musty smell. A/C wasn’t ideal, but certainly good enough. Well worth the rental price.

Everything I had hoped it would be and more

Great location, excellent views, brilliantly stylized to the era of the home. We were 2 couples visiting in June for a long weekend. It was located within 30 min of the things we were interested in. Everything is as advertised, the views were spectacular, the vibe of the home was great. I liked that there were 3 rooms with king sized beds and the deck was the perfect place for our morning coffee. We also grilled out on the deck one evening and took in a spectacular sunset with our dinner. There was more space than we needed and well priced for the amount of people it could accommodate. We arrived in the dark and would recommend a daytime arrival as we took a couple of short wrong turns because we couldn't see anything. Once we had our bearings it was not difficult to find the place, especially with daylight. I have rented with Vacasa before and would definitely do it again.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review, Stepahnie. We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay and appreciated the great location, excellent views, and the unique style of the home. It's fantastic to know that the three king-sized bedrooms, the deck for morning coffee, and the grilling area for evening dinners added to your experience. We’re glad you found the home spacious and well-priced for your group. We appreciate your tip about arriving during daylight hours and are happy to hear that once you had your bearings, it was easy to navigate. Thank you for being a repeat guest with Vacasa, and we look forward to welcoming you back for another fantastic stay!

Hiking and Leaf-Gazing Trip

Four female friends traveled to this property for a hiking/leaf gazing trip. The mudroom at the entrance to the house is very useful. We loved having a bedroom each. There are plenty of towels and blankets. Bathrooms are very adequate. The kitchen is updated and a pleasure to use. The water filter on the kitchen faucet is a very nice feature. The living spaces are roomy and comfortable with gas fireplaces and views that were exactly what we wanted. The decks have the same great views with comfortable seating and provided us a perfect place to have cocktails and enjoy the sunsets. The location is close to multiple hiking trails and the quaint town of Black Mountain. Thank you for such a comfortable home for our trip. We had a great time and will tell all our friends about it. We highly recommend this house!

2021 New Year's Vacay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great place high up in the hills of Montreat, view of the valley spectacular and we were lucky enough to have some clear days with an amazing sunset. Close proximity to Bear Mountain which I marginally prefer to Asheville (which is about 20 min away, also very close). Warm enough for yoga on the deck and a cookout. The furniture is comfortable and very stylish. We were just two couples and can attest to the comfortable beds for the ensuite upstairs and king ensuite downstairs. Was surprised there were only 4 sets of towels for a week (1 bath towel per person). They were of high quality, but a bit smaller than I care forHouse was clean, but did find a few pans/utensils that could have been washed a bit more carefully. We used the kitchen quite a bit and the dishwasher was terrific, good oven as well. The grill could probably use a good cleaning, had a surprise flare up which nearly ruined our steaks, but luckily it was caught in timeManagement company was awesome, great communication, clear direction, prompt service when we had a minor issue with a clogged toilet. Highly recommend and would use them again.

Hi Dawn, Thanks for this review and feedback. We're so happy you enjoyed the location and love that you experienced some great sunsets and views! Glad to hear the beds were nice and comfy too! That being said, we apologize if you encountered any issues during your stay. We were happy to assist with the plumbing but wish we knew about the cleanliness and towels at the time so we could have helped out then. Rest assured our local homecare team is following up with housekeeping and adding any missing linens to the home. If there is anything else we can do for you please reach out to us. We hope to see you again in the future!

Wonderful view!!

The view is spectacular! The beds are very comfy. Bathrooms and kitchen are clean. Plenty of room to spread out if needed, but a large table and couch for togetherness. It’s a little challenging to find the first time, but easy after that. Convenient to all in Black Mountain and a short drive to Asheville.

Dirty sheets and they never came and changed them

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the house and the location, but we were absolutely disgusted with a fresh bodily fluid stain on the bedsheets. We reached out the first night when we found it. We were told someone would come change out all of the sheets if we wanted, and of course we said yes. They never came and changed the sheets, and finally on night 3 we laundered the sheets (other guests did as well because who knows if any of the sheets were clean), and the stain came right out. This is awful. We asked for money back and they never responded. They at the very least could have had an extra set of clean king sized sheets in the house and we would have changed them out. Also, we have pictures of the dirty sheets that we shared with them but they didn’t seem to care. There were also a lot of bugs and they said it had recently been treated for bugs. Though we understand that bugs are inevitable, to find a handful in the first hour we got there is not welcoming. And one more thing, the upstairs tubs barely drained, so therefore we had to shower in basically dirty bath water.
