Owner needs to spend some money on this place

I understand that this is a old mountain cabin but there are certainly things that need to be addressed. The management company was great and did everything they could to help us out including trying to find a new place for us.

Very rustic cabin

Very basic, rustic home. Large space, put together in a very choppy fashion. Place was clean, except floor did not appear swept or mopped recently. Also, I was not prepared for lack of central heat/air, heat was through a variety of electric heaters throughout cabin.

Cozy little cabin

Our weekends stay here reminded me so much of our ancestral home back in the village. Everything here has a rustic charm.. my little one loved looking at old artifacts around the house like phones, old stove, old pots and pans etc.. We had no trouble getting here. Cause the GPS worked the entire time. Wifi was fine on the first day but barely worked the next day.. we were out and about so this wasn’t a big issue.. Overall the stay was good for the price we paid.

Rustic, charming and off the beaten path

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as noted by the 5 star rating and our title. It was clean and spacious in a beautiful surroundings. One thing to note for future guests. There are multiple small step ups and steps downs of less than 5 inches. While they are clearly marked with orange tape, could still be a challenge to someone not as mobile. Also would recommend to install a handrail near the tub. It’s a beautiful cast iron tub, but can be difficult to get in and out of, especially if you older or aren’t as mobile.

Quaint and quiet

The place is a quant little cabin. It is nestled at the end of a one lane dirt road. Not one lane in each direction, one lane. It is only about half a mile long. I would recommend getting there before dark on the 1st day. The cabin is immediately to your left when the road opens up. It is a simple, 1 bdrm with a king size bed & loft sleeping area. The ladder in the room leads to an open loft with 2 beds directly above the king bed. The kitchen has all the basic needs. If you are there during the colder months the wood burning stove works excellent & is MORE than capable of warming the room. Stop by Walmart, next to Starbucks ;o), to get some extra wood, about 20 mins drive. There are 2 other heaters (bathroom & living room). The sound of the stream that runs beside the cabin makes sitting on the porch a peaceful place to be. This cabin is not fancy or modern, but has everything you need and 2 TV's if you need extra entertainment. We didn't have any issues so did not have to contact the owner. The cabin is only 30 mins from several attractions (Great Smokey Train ride, wildwater rafting, ziplining, hiking & more). It was perfect for the two of us.

Cute house

The house was adorable, warm and homey. My 14 year old loved the loft! There is a house very close by but it still felt very private.

Very Uncomfortable.

The Gas wasn't turned on to the heating units. It was cold. I called to report the problem in a 3 night stay nobody ever called or came by. The house was fine other than that.
Response from VrboOwner on 21 Jun, 2023
Thank you for your review, Geneva. We're sorry that your stay wasn't as great as it should have been. We apologize that the heating wasn't functioning as it should have been. Our records indicate that someone was able to come the day after the issue was reported to address it, though this was the day of your check out. We apologize for the delay in having it addressed. We would love another opportunity to host you with an improved experience.

Great Stay

The property as a whole was better than expected. Warm and cozy. If there was any issue, it would be with the BBQ'S. The Webber had no Grate, and the gas unit was in need of some serious cleaning, other than that it was an excellent stay.

Off the beaten path

An interesting, cabin off the touristy places but maybe a bit too far off. The roads were not easy to navigate with our Kia Telluride. It was far from city lights which I wanted for star gazing and the Fall color was awesome. Filled with antiques yet all the modern conveniences present including WiFi.

Perfect and Charming

We had such an amazing time. Was looking for a quiet and private place to escape too and we found it here. We never had to reach out to the owmers for anything. Wifi was great, TV was great, Shower was great. Temperature dropped into the 20s and we only used the electric fire place in the bedroom and the gas one in the living roon and it kept it very warm. We were comfortable the entire stay. The driveway to me was awesome and adds to the mountain experience. It was beautiful. We look foward to returning!

Scary ride but worth the trip!

The ride up the side of the mountain to the cabin is very scary. Definitely wouldn't do it at night or in the rain or snow. The cabin is rustic and quaint, fully equipped and very clean. We found it very peaceful and enjoyed our stay.

Getaway Week

The cabin is located up a paved road that transitions to gravel and winds around the mountains away from traffic and all noise. A great place to chill and enjoy the solitude and quiet nights. The cabin has all the amenities and is fully furnished. However, the bath toilet is child height and jammed next to the shower/bathtub. A bit cumbersome for elderly or large persons. Otherwise, the cabin is in a great location and not that far from activities in the surrounding areas.
