Great house to stay in near Freeport! The host was very communicative and the place was well stocked with dishes, towels, etc. The kitchen surfaces and dishes were not all completely clean, but I figure that is from the busy season. All appliances worked as expected.

We had to leave this VRBO immediately after checking in because the property was not in a condition that was safe or acceptable for guests. The moment we walked in, we were hit with a strong smell of wet dog and mildew. It was immediately obvious that the home had not been properly cleaned or maintained.There were numerous cleanliness and maintenance issues throughout the property. The shower had spider webs with spiders and gnats, there was a dead cockroach hanging from a web in the hallway, and one wall was covered in dead gnats. Spider webs were visible in the corners of multiple rooms, and bugs and dead bugs were throughout the house because the windows were not properly sealed.Beyond the cleanliness concerns, the home was in poor condition. There were missing baseboards in several rooms, the bathroom doors would not close properly, a bathroom light fixture was missing, the towels were stained, the linens were old, and the closets were dirty and cluttered. There was also trash underneath the porch.The basement was also concerning. It appeared neglected, and the basement door locks from the inside, which could pose a safety concern for families with small children. Overall, the property did not match the standard of cleanliness and maintenance we expected from a vacation rental.
