Appartement Königszimmer - Holzwerk Oybin

There it is: steaming and puffing right outside your window; like a dragon, it spews smoke, dust, and heat—our Zittau narrow-gauge railroad. Starting at 10:00 a.m., it runs from Zittau to Oybin, and the tracks run just 20 meters from our garden. That makes the “Königszimmer” a dream come true for any railroad fan.
That’s exactly how it was when we first toured the Oybin Lumber Mill with the real realtors: the little train was passing by between Oybin Mountain and the Oybin Lumber Mill, and we both thought, “Now all that’s missing is Jim Knopf, Lukas, and Alfons—King of Three-Quarters-to-Twelve—to come down from the monastery ruins to greet us.” Of course, that wasn’t the case: it was a very overgrown garden with a rather dilapidated stone house.
But we took on the challenge, and that’s how the King’s Room, among other things, came to be. And, as befits a king, it has a canopy. We’re sure Alfons would love it and invite all the guests from Lummerland here!

Our vacation complex is located directly next to the narrow-gauge railroad and Mount Oybin, featuring a 1-hectare garden and situated 400 meters from the Oybin terminus station. In our Holzwerk Oybin, we have furnished 6 unique, country-style apartments. The Römerlager, Königszimmer, Himmelreich, Storchennest, and Schorn apartments are accessible via a staircase. The building itself is 250 years old and was once a sawmill, hence the name Holzwerk. We have renovated the building in a sustainable and eco-friendly manner. The “Römerlager,” “Königszimmer,” “Himmelreich,” “Schorn,” and “Storchennest” apartments each feature a fireplace and modern bathrooms. Two apartments (“Storchennest” and “Himmelreich”) have a hot tub available for guests to use. The garden is always available for our guests to relax, play, barbecue, and more. For guests of all ages, there’s a trampoline, a badminton net, and a sandy sunbathing area. Breakfast and dinner can only be booked on-site at



. On-site costs: The “Storchennest” and “Himmelreich” rooms each feature a whirlpool. Towels and bed linens are included in the price. Children under 4 years old stay for free. Parking and Wi-Fi are free of charge.



Check-in is from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM, and check-out is from 8:15 AM to 11:00 AM.
