Hansstadl - Almhütte

Welcome to the Hansstadl.
Built in 1880 in Teuchl, in the beautiful Möll Valley within the Hohe Tauern National Park region of Carinthia, the building originally served as a barn for cattle, goats, and sheep.
140 years later, the Hansstadl underwent a loving, comprehensive renovation and will be rented out as a holiday home for the first time in 2023. Only locally sourced larch wood from Teuchl was used for the renovation. The interior design reveals that two generations were involved in the work. Modern details combined with traditional and sustainable materials give the cabin a unique, contemporary, and cosy character.
The Hansstadl is the ideal retreat for nature-loving active holidaymakers who want to hike the mountain peaks of the Kreuzeck Group or enjoy the Hohe Tauern from the valley on a leisurely bike tour along the Mölltal Cycle Path. The Kreuzeck Group is still considered an insider’s tip among outdoor enthusiasts. The Teuchlspitz, Polinik, Salzkofel, and the Kreuzeck are among the highest and most scenic peaks in the Kreuzeck Group and are easily accessible from Teuchl.
The newly renovated and sun-drenched holiday cottage is located in the centre of this small village of 80 residents, right next to a wildly romantic mill stream at approximately 1,200 metres above sea level. Teuchl is one of the most beautiful and unspoiled side valleys in the Hohe Tauern National Park. The village can be reached from the valley via a 7-km-long, paved, and wide mountain road in about 15 minutes by car.
Included in the room rate is the Kärnten Card, which provides free admission to over 100 attractions (e.g., the Kreuzeck Panoramic Cable Car, Groppenstein Gorge, Raggas Gorge, the National Park Visitor Centre, and the Mallnitz Mountain Railway, etc.). In about 30 minutes by car, you can reach the most beautiful natural sites in Central Europe’s largest nature reserve.
Our personal holiday tip: Take advantage of the unique opportunity to drive along one of the highest and most famous mountain passes in the Alps—the Großglockner High Alpine Road—on your way here or back home.



Alpine Cabin:

The 50 m² newly renovated and light-filled alpine cabin is ideal for nature lovers and couples and features hot water, a wood-burning stove for heating, an entryway, a living-dining area with a pull-out couch, a bedroom with a double bed, a small bathroom with a shower and toilet, and a laundry area. Outside, guests have access to a terrace with a grill. 
The kitchen is equipped with a hob, refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, and coffee maker. Bed linens, towels, tea towels, and toilet paper are provided.



On-site costs: Good to know: • Included in the room rate is the Kärnten Card, which offers free admission to up to 100 attractions in the Hohe Tauern National Park region and throughout Carinthia, and also provides access to various bonus partners in Carinthia and East Tyrol with great discounts and many benefits. • Most mobile carriers have no service at the Teuchl. The perfect setting for a “digital detox holiday” without cell phones, laptops, and the like. Wi-Fi is available at the cabin and can be used as needed. • Pets are also welcome as guests at our hut and may stay with you if you bring your own dog bed and pay a small flat fee of €30 per stay. • We offer our guests the option to cancel free of charge up to two weeks before arrival. If we are unable to rebook the cabin, we will charge 80% of the total cost. A 20% deposit is due within 7 days of booking. The balance is due by the day of departure.



Check-in is available from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and check-out is from 12:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
