About the host
Hosted by Hoang Do
Hi, I’m Steve (SD) — a Le Cordon Bleu Australia alumnus living and working in Melbourne. I love travelling, discovering new places, and connecting with people from around the world. Outside of work, I enjoy fishing, camping, hiking, and cooking for family and friends. My partner and I are passionate about hospitality and are committed to providing every guest with a thoughtful, comfortable, and memorable stay. “Nothing to lose, but a world to see.”
Why they chose this property
We chose Braybrook because it strikes a rare balance — quiet, leafy, and residential, yet just 20 minutes from Melbourne's CBD and airport. What we love most is the park right across the street: waking up to green space and a kids' playground instead of another building, watching families walk their dogs and kids play in the mornings, gives the whole street a relaxed, community feel. Add in 10' to one of the biggest shopping centre in the Southern hemisphere - Highpoint Shopping Centre, Coles and local shops just minutes away, plus the Maribyrnong River trails nearby, and you get all the convenience of the city without the noise. It's the everyday moments — coffee at a local café, a stroll through the park before dinner — that make this neighborhood feel like home.
What makes this property unique
Parkside Ember isn't just a place to sleep — it's a home designed for togetherness. Most short-stay properties give you a bed and a kitchenette; we built something a whole family or group actually wants to spend time in, with a full games room for rainy afternoons, a private garden and fire pit for evenings under the stars, and a kitchen big enough to actually cook a proper family meal instead of ordering in. Every room is thoughtfully decorated with original artwork rather than generic hotel furniture, so it feels curated, not corporate. And with a park and kids' playground literally across the street, it's one of the few homes in Melbourne's west where families with young children don't have to compromise on space, comfort, or things to do. It's less "rental" and more "the holiday house you want for your family to ẹnoy"
