Stay in Myrtle Beach was great

The condo was very close to the beach (5 minute walk) and to an ice cream shop and breakfast cafe. There were a lot of things to do very nearby. The beds were comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed.

6/10 Okay

Room wasnt cleaned to our liking. We found a few dead cochroaches just laying in the floor. Host provided dishes but alot of the dishes were not clean and had to clean them before using. Just the small details make the biggest impact. Also they provide a laundry room with washer and dryer. The washing machine didnt work. It will fill with water but will not wash the clothes. Overall I would give this place a 3 rating.

Fine, but we won’t return

Overall it was ok. We will not return to the unit or area again though. Unit was clean enough, but the stored bedding smelled like smoke and the bathrooms smelled like sewage. The pool area is very nice and the beach access is nice as well. Parking is scarce. No one must’ve been checking for parking passes because several cars did not have the issued pass and there were no spots left for us more than once. Limited options to park elsewhere.
Response from VrboOwner on 26 Jun, 2026
Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the pool area and beach access. The home was inspected prior to arrival, and no smoke or sewage odors were noted at that time. Parking is managed by the onsite HOA, and while we understand availability can be challenging, enforcement of parking passes is outside of our control. We appreciate your comments and will continue working to provide a better guest experience.

4/10 Poor

Water damage

This home was water damage. The shower towel bar is off leaving 2 gaping holes for water entry behind and under the shower. There also appears to be water damage in the bedroom closet ceiling. The floors and wall are likely polluted with mold. I was going to call and request a switch but didn't want to deal with the hassle for our short stay. I wish I would've because we all fell ill following our stay. Needless to say, I would not stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pelican Watch room 121 but the listing was a bit misleading. The listing says that it is beachfront however only the facilities such as the pool are. The actual room is across the street with absolutely no view of the beach/ocean, just other buildings and a road. The other part that was misleading is that it says there is an elevator available, while there is an elevator it does not stop on the floor with room 121, it stops halfway up meeting with other rooms requiring guests to still walk up half a flight of stairs for our rental. The rooms are nice, the amenities are good, but it was a bit disappointing that we didn't get what we booked. Will think twice before booking here again.
