A quiet getaway in the Alsace

This little apartment gave us a wonderful one-month experience. It is located right in the center of the village, among the bakery, the meat market, the church, and several eateries. The surroundings are beautiful and very quiet--with only the church bells breaking in on the hour. François and Marie were wonderful hosts, eager to help in any way.

situé au centre de Kintzheim ce gite est très bien situé pour visiter l'Alsace de Saverne à Colmar. Nous avons pu voir le plan incliné d"Arzwiller , Sélestat ou Kaysersberg. Quant à la nourriture .... Bon, Bon, Bon

Elzasser cottage in karakteristiek dorp

Kleine cottage met leuke uitstraling. Eerst metalen trapje op om binnen te komen. Huisje heeft 2 verdiepingen, bovenste heeft schuin dak en is een slaapkamer over hele lengte van het huisje, daar staat een mobiele airco (is heel fijn en echt nodig). In andere slaapkamer hebben wij de ventilator gezet om koelte te creëren. Het huisje biedt genoeg ruimte voor een gezin van 4 (2 tieners). De badkamer is prima, al is de douchecabine smal. Woonkamer en keuken fijn, goede meubels om te zitten. Keuken is uitstekend voorzien inclusief goede grote koelkast en apart groot vriesvak. Zoals in andere review gezegd, bedden zijn erg hard en voor lange mensen kort. Voor lange mensen op sommige plekken in huis uitkijken: met name bij balkon zitten metalen haken waar je voor moet bukken. Het balkon is echt geweldig, onze favoriete plek! Heerlijk en inderdaad mooi uitzicht op kasteel Kintzheim. Neem een verrekijker mee, dan kun je iedere dag meekijken naar de roofvogelshow. En de cottage ligt aan de wijnroute, prima uitvalsbasis om dit gebied te verkennen. Het ligt aan de straat, normale verkeersdrukte, 's nachts geen last van. De bakker is geweldig, iedere ochtend verse baguette ( en mirtille taartjes!!). De gastheer en gastvrouw zijn heel vriendelijk, we hebben een fijne vakantie gehad. Voor de prijs uitstekend!
