Hiking-biking-relaxing in the Palatinate Forest Nature Park

Newly renovated and tastefully furnished one-bedroom holiday apartment designed for comfort, featuring a kitchenette and dining area on the ground floor with a large terrace; located in a very quiet area of Schöntal, right next to the forest and 150 metres from the Schöntal swimming pond. Schöntal has no through traffic; the speed limit is generally 30 km/h.

The apartment is wheelchair-accessible; the terrace can also be accessed from the outside via a lockable door, making it ideal for older guests and cyclists, as bikes can be parked on the terrace.

An ideal starting point for extended hiking and trekking tours through the unspoiled German-French Pfälzerwald/Northern Vosges Biosphere Reserve, or for trips to the countless castle ruins and bizarre rock formations in the immediate vicinity, relax at one of Ludwigswinkel’s many swimming ponds, enjoy great mountain bike tours (direct access to signposted trails right from the house), or take a leisurely road bike ride without significant climbs through the Sauerbach Valley all the way to Wissembourg —Alsace, a visit to the Biosphere House in the neighbouring town with a treetop trail, barefoot park, mini-golf, and truly excellent dining options.

We provide our guests with one women’s and one men’s bike free of charge (bike caravans for dogs are also available free of charge), help and advise you on planning tours, and also offer guided (for a fee) hiking, trekking, cycling, and mountain biking tours tailored specifically to your needs. (24-inch e-mountain bike available; 27.5-inch e-mountain bike and a touring e-bike with low step-through frame available for a fee)

Bread roll service (Mon–Sat) and initial grocery shopping available (free of charge upon payment of the purchase amounts)

Ludwigswinkel, a climatic health resort, is the perfect holiday destination for guests seeking relaxation, variety, nature, sports, and tranquility. Here, if you wish, you can spend your entire holiday without using a car; even in winter, there are great excursions to enjoy.

A supermarket, bakery, butcher shop, and petrol station are located in the neighbouring town 3 km away—hair salons and a corner store are in Ludwigswinkel. A wide variety of high-quality dining options in Ludwigswinkel and the nearby surrounding communities.


Dogs are welcome up to approx. 40 cm / 21 kg—surcharge of EUR 2.50 per day.
