NYE stay

Budget friendly Cornish stay in a lovely harbour village - the house is a bit chilly and there were signs of dogs from previous stays, but it was affordable so I wasn’t expecting the Ritz & we had a really nice stay. The location of the house is perfect, and the village itself is gorgeous!

I cannot recommend this property . Two of the bedrooms bedlinen were covered in hairs ( we think pet hair) The property was very grubby . Cupboards in bedroom dusty .lots of ants in the kitchen . It needs information about the hill to the property & vicinity of car park . Loved Mevagissey but would not use this property again .

4/10 Poor

Not cleaned properly, in disrepair

We arrived to find a house that stank of damp. My room had mould on the wall and the window wouldn't close (a sign stated that this was a known problem but there was no time line stated for fixing it). The first floor shower had a pretty hefty leak (also a known problem). The house was poorly cleaned before we arrived, to the point that one of the rooms was unusable. Overall, this was not at all of the advertised quality. The only saving grace was that interhome did send a cleaner the next day.

Great characterful house in central village location within a couple of minutes walkt to harbour, pub, food, fudge shop, fish & chips, etc. House is large and spacious over 4 floors but don't expect modern, clean lines and materials! This is definitely a "lived in", old property with quirks. We are not overly fussy, but a deep clean wouldn't go amiss. Pets are welcome at the property so this will obviously affect it in this area. We had a couple of bed, shower and drain smell issues which were reported to the agent and are hopefully now being addressed. This would not however put us off going back as the overall experience was great. Genuinely don't think you could beat location for access to everything. No parking on site, but the main car park is a 5 minute walk and prices are good. We paid a total of 20 for 4 days and nights comings and goings. Speak to the guys in the hut who are very helpful and friendly.

AVOID-1. General cleanliness and condition-Property is for sale and not presented in a clean or well-maintained condition. Areas require cleaning and maintenance, including the letterbox, damp walls, wardrobes, drawers, bin sanitation, bedding, showers, and other parts of the property, visible on arrival. 2. Ground-floor toilet unusable, no lock and didn't close .3. Dirty bedding and dog hair-4. Bathroom/shower room and water leak, resulting in water entering the ground-floor lounge area. This was a serious maintenance issue and affected our ability to use the property normally. 5. Lounge unusable: it had a strong, unpleasant and damp smell. More seriously, water was running from the ceiling into the lounge area.6. Courtyard unusable, and it keeps going on...broken blinds, unable to ventilate property, 7-Kitchen smell was unpleasant with broken floor tiles, fridge and sanitation, and made the kitchen uncomfortable to use, strong smell of chemicals. 8-Dirty and wet patches on carpets. 9-Access to property without notice/privacy concern, 10-host uncontactable, never replied to me before checking in-AVOID THIS PROPERTY AS IT'S FOR SALE AND IN GENERAL DISREPAIR. I MADE A COMPLAINT FOR A FULL REFUND. Still waiting, 3 days now. I CALLED IN TO CHECK ON THE STATUS OF THE PROPERTY DUE TO A REVIEW FROM JULY BEFORE CHECKING IN AND WAS ASSURED ALL WAS RESOLVED because 2 of us have allergies. Accommodation has failed us, and we do not wish for anyone to go through the same. AVOID

We are a large family group of 9 plus a little dog and the set up suited us perfectly with each room having its own bathroom on every floor. The house is amazing and the location is incredible. We loved being able to walk everywhere and explore Mevagissey as well as a 20 minute walk to neighbouring beaches, and go crabbing in the evenings. It was not far to drive to other places around Cornwall too. The house itself is in much need of some TLC but we only stayed for 4 nights so could deal with the condition and all the benefits outweighed the issues with the house. We all absolutely loved our stay in Mevagissey.
