We look forward to your visit – The Mein Schwarzwaldhäusle Team The area around Todtnauberg is a true paradise for nature lovers, those seeking peace and quiet, and active holidaymakers. This idyllic village is situated on a sunny high plateau in the southern Black Forest, surrounded by dense forests, clear streams, and vast meadows. Numerous hiking trails start right outside the holiday rental’s front door, leading to scenic ridges, rustic huts, and impressive natural sites. Particularly popular are hikes to the Feldberg, the highest mountain in the Black Forest, as well as to the nearby Belchen or the Todtnau Waterfall, one of Germany’s highest natural waterfalls.
In winter, Todtnauberg transforms into a small but charming winter sports destination. Skiers and snowboarders will find several lifts and well-groomed slopes here, while cross-country skiers and snowshoe hikers can enjoy the peaceful trails through the snow-covered landscape. There are also suitable slopes and tobogganing opportunities for families with children.
If you’re in the mood for a day trip, you can quickly reach the charming city of Freiburg im Breisgau, a historic city with its old town, the small Bächle streams, and the famous cathedral. Visits to Lake Titisee, Lake Schluchsee, or Alsace—which is just under an hour’s drive away—are equally worthwhile. The proximity to the Swiss border also opens up many other excursion destinations.
No matter the season—the area around Todtnauberg offers a special blend of activity, relaxation, and the impressive natural beauty of the Black Forest. Ideal for anyone who loves unspoiled nature, enjoys being active, or simply wants to take a deep breath.
