Liked: Check-in, communication, listing accuracy
Likes: Fairly spacious with two bedrooms, sizeable kitchen and bathroom. Two balconies. The balcony off of the kitchen has a very nice view or Lake Como. Also has a washer on the second balcony along with clothes drying lines. Large refrigerator and full kitchen stocked with dishes and utensils. Comfortable bed. Wifi worked smoothly. That's typically a given but not always the case with some of our previous VRBO stays.
Dislikes: Lot of dust collectors in the apartment affecting allergies. It's at the top of the building (nice views) but up three floors. If you have large roll arounds, that might be a deal breaker. I was confused as to the exact location, thinking the apartment was lower down the hill, closer to the commercial section of Menaggio. It's not far as the crow flies, but it's up a steep hill. We walked but used the bus to get back to the Menaggio bus terminal with our luggage.
General: Logistics of getting from Como to Menaggio and back. We did not have a car and used public transportation.
1) There were big lines waiting to purchase the public ferry tickets. I'd pass on them next time.
2) Use the bus if you need to get between Como and Menaggio when you have less time
3) Avoid the bus when the kids are going or returning from school. The buses are usually packed, and the kids take the bus to get to school ... making it even worse. Tip ... Try to get on the bus at the Como or Menaggio bus terminals. You'll almost always get a seat.
