One of a kind oak post and beam barn in a quiet setting

Unique oak and post beam barn constructed by owners. Master bedroom and bathroom on the first floor. The first floor is an open living design that has a fully equipped kitchen with eat at island for 5, dining area and living area with cathedral ceiling. There are 48 ft of sliding glass doors to view Quonochontaug Pond and the ocean. Second floor has a loft area with bed. The back bedroom on the second floor has four twin beds. There is an outdoor shower with hot and cold water to wash away the sand from the beach. Situated on 10 acres of woodland and marsh there is access to a private dock. The dock is available to launch your kayak or canoe. The salt pond is perfect for all types of water activities such as fishing, canoeing, kayaking etc. Renters can choose between two private beaches in Weekapaug (car pass and 6 beach buttons provided) five minutes away. Fenway Beach is a great children’s beach- gentle descent to the water, nice for boogie and skim boards and body surfing. The Inn Beach is two miles of beautiful white sand. The newly renovated Weekapaug Inn is just a few minutes away and Watch Hill is approx. 15 minutes driving time.

Rest and relaxing in Rhode Island

Property was clean, comfortable and spacious for the 6 of us. Water view, kayaking and beaches were outstanding. Noted lack of traffic and tourists was a pleasant surprise. Landlord was accessible and very pleasant. A great vacation location.

The “barn” is a wonderful timber peg building with everything you need inside! Our Hosts Ruth and Stearns supplies us with all we needed and allowed us our privacy while being just moments away by text if we had questions. A perfect vacation rental!

Such a cool and comfortable place. Lots of space to spread out in the large kitchen and dining area - with a beautiful view. Fenway beach was perfect for our two small children. We had a truly great vacation!

Fantastic view and wonderful hosts

The cottage is charming and comes with everything you need for amazing getaway. The kitchen had every thing you need and we enjoyed playing pool every night . The location is fabulous overlooking the salt pond and having access to Weekapaug beaches . Ruth & Stearns are great hosts and very accommodating when had some car troubles I would highly recommend this place

Great stay at Haversham barn!

We enjoyed our stay very much at the Haversham barn. Meeting Ruth and Stearns to go over the property took away any questions we had. They are great hosts. The house is charming and very comfortable to stay in. We had no issues during our stay. We would stay again with no problem!

Private waterfront slice of paradise.

A lovely custom made post and beam barn with a private large yard overlooking the seawater pond. Great place to relax and unwind. Paddle boarding and kayaking off the dock was easy to do. Highly recommend this wonderful private property that welcomes dogs.

We had a lovely time staying at this property, enjoying the spacious layout and large, light-filled gathering space with multiple seating areas and sliding glass doors all around. But most of all, we loved being surrounded by nothing but nature and strolling down to the dock overlooking the pond and ocean beyond. Thank you, Ruth and Stearns! We hope to come back next year!

Gem in Westerly

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bryants cottage in Westerly last week. We brought kayaks and paddled around the pond. We surfed and swam at nearby Fenway Beach. The beach pass and buttons were a huge bonus. The house itself is roomy, well maintained and charming with a piano, pool table, antiques and shelves of books to complement a huge farmer's table. The owners are delightful and ready to help in any way. We will definitely be back.

A slice of heaven!

Ruth & Stearns home is clean, private, spacious, and has everything you could need + more. Waking up to the birds and the fresh breeze off of the salt water pond was just what we needed. The private beach that we were able to access is one of the most beautiful beaches around. After a long day at the beach, we were able to retreat to the peaceful property for an outdoor shower and to watch the sunset down at the dock. There is high quality kitchen equipment available if you'd like to prepare your own meals. Plenty of board games, books, a billiards table, and smart TV, etc. Thank you for a perfect Rhode Island getaway!

Incredible time at the beach + on the pond

Our time in Haversham was wonderful. We arrived before the season was in full swing. Ruth and Stearns were very helpful in informing us of all there was to do and making it as easy as possible for us to have a great time in the house, on the patio, on the water and at the beach. We read on the patio, paddled on the pond, biked to Weekapapug, wandered the beach, and surfed the waves. The house was clean and comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. Plenty of space for two adults and three teenagers. Thank you for sharing your home. We had an incredible vacation.

Great week!

We stayed here with two adults and four teenage girls. This rustic home was a great spot for us. The sliding glass doors and screens all around almost made it feel like we were in the outdoors. The home is beautifully furnished and appointed...everything we could need for our one week stay - - even beach chairs and beach umbrellas. Our girls loved exploring the saltwater pond with a rented canoe and made many bike trips in to Weekapaug and Miquamicut. They enjoyed the upstairs bedroom with four single beds - - perfect for the kids. The downstairs bed was very comfortable for the adults. We loved the big kitchen/dining area and the pool table was a hit with the girls. If any issues or questions arose, Ruth and Stearns were very quick and responsive...they clearly wanted our stay to be a good one.

Amazing Setting and Location

This house was right for me in so many ways. Being able to walk to the dock and to see the water from the house was awesome. I was able to have a friend stay over for a couple of nights, and then my daughter and two children (aged 5 and 8) came for an overnight. The children (and me) loved the nearby beach. There was plenty to entertain them at the house (pool, piano, darts, books). The house was spacious. It is not new and shiny, but to me that was an asset. There was a bedroom and bath on the main floor, which was important to someone my age. The landlords were in a house on the property, but across a field. Stearns was on the spot to help me into the house when it was raining, to show me around the property, to check on things, and even to play the piano for me. But very little (it took me a bit to figure out the shower, but that was minor) was amiss. This is an amazing house and location. I intend to return.

Personality Plus

This owner-built barn/house is just the right balance of elegance, convenience, and funk. Great location on a salt water pond just a mile or so from Weekapaug beach, one of the finest in New England. The rental comes with several beach passes which gives you access to this otherwise private beach. The house has a few funky elements, such as a toilet that fills with hot water ... but that's another story, but why would you go to a beach house that doesn't have a little funk. The downstairs layout is perfect for entertaining, with a large dining area and kitchen island. A TV, pool table, and even a baby grand piano means there is something for everyone. The walls are glass sliders that look out to the pond and ocean beyond. The kitchen is fully equipped, and wile some of the utensils could be updated, they'll get you by. Hey, this is a beach vacation, remember. The South County area of Rhode Island offers a wide range of entertainment options--historical, salty, honky-tonk, and delicious. Owners Ruth and Stearns are friendly, helpful, unobtrusive, and delightful! We had a great time!

End of summer get away

The house is spacious with room for all kinds of activities. The site is private given that there are neighbors. We did not see or hear anyone! Everyone loved spending time at the dock on the salt pond. You can see crabs, lots of tiny fish, and the occasional lunker. Stearns and Ruth were great hosts. They answered our questions but didn't need to be in touch all the time. Our family loved the house and the chance to be together in this lovely spot.

Beautiful property

What a beautiful spot! We loved the privacy and location. The photos really undersell this property. The downstairs living area and kitchen are very spacious. Sliding doors and screens keep the downstairs nice and cool. We loved the pool table, such a bonus. There is a bedroom downstairs and then the loft has another bedroom with 4 twin beds, and then a double bed in the public area of the loft. Keep the beds in mind and make sure it fits your party’s needs. The outdoor shower is divine. We never used the one inside! Our dog loved the property and we walked to the dock and pond everyday. Kayaking on the pond was amazing. Ruth and Stearns are generous and friendly hosts, responsive to all questions and they make you feel at home. Highly recommend this property.

2021 Haversham beach vacation

The location is both scenic and convenient for kayaking with direct access to the Quonie salt water lagoon. The beach is pristine, never overcrowded and can be accessed either by a short 1-2 mile car ride or a quick row across the lagoon and short walk over the dunes to the beach. The house or “barn” is very spacious with a large kitchen, large dining table as well as casual seating, a piano and pool table. The loft has a bunk room plus a double bed; the master bedroom is on the first floor. Best suited for close family with children and extended family. We loved having our dog with us and enjoyed our daily walk down to the dock.

Wonderful stay
