About this property

Small house in the yard of a mill

The “Häusla” stands in the courtyard of an old watermill, which is home to a family and many animals (a dog, a cat, chickens, ducks, sheep, and peacocks). The Häusla was originally a tractor garage and was completely renovated and transformed into a lovely little guesthouse. The layout is open-concept, meaning there are no separate rooms. The sleeping area and the shower with sink are located upstairs in the attic, accessible via a ladder. The living and dining areas are downstairs, as is the bathroom. Through the patio door, you can step out into the mill’s vegetable garden. Here, you can relax on the patio and listen to the murmur of the Franconian Rezat River. Or you can hear the peacocks calling—they can be loud at times, but they’re a joy to watch. It’s also good if you’re not afraid of dogs, since there’s a large, well-behaved farm dog living at the mill. He has no problem with children, as he grew up with the four mill children. The kids love to play in the yard, which means things can get pretty noisy at times.
The cottage is furnished in a minimalist style but has everything you need. There’s no kitchen. Just a hob in the cabinet, and if you’re creative, you can whip up anything using the Thermomix that’s there.

The Franconian Water Cycle Path runs right past the front door. There’s also a bike path that leads directly into Ansbach’s old town. Otherwise, there are beautiful forests in the immediate vicinity. The Franconian Lakes are easily accessible by car. If you enjoy gazing at the night sky, this is the perfect spot for you—thanks to its secluded location, there are no distracting lights in the immediate vicinity, and a window above the bed—measuring nearly 10 square metres—offers a view of the night sky.?
