The luxurious development of Estrela Da Luz is located in the heart of Praia Da Luz just a 200 metre walk to the beach. Since opening in spring 2005 it has gained an impressive reputation for its outstanding quality, exceptional facilities and value for money and has become a much sought after location for an enjoyable holiday in the Western Algarve - as featured on Channel 4’s ‘A Place in the Sun’.
Our spacious 3 bedroom apartment is ideal for families or groups wanting a great holiday with everything you could possibly wish for. One of the best features is the very large South-facing veranda, perfect for those lazy afternoons or early evening drinks.

Estella Da Luz is a great complex. The staff and owner were quick to act with our concerns and requests. A great location close to markets, restaurants, with the beach a short 10 minute walk.

Relaxed and friendly

Very well kept and tidy complex, very friendly staff especially the bar man by the kids pool, a real gent! This is one one the nicest and possibly the safest place we’ve every stayed for the kids. It’s a very modern secure complex. It’s really central, just a small walk to beach, shops and restaurants.

Fabulous holiday

We had an amazing time at Estrela Da Luz. The apartment was so spacious and had everything we needed. The check in process and information from the hosts was great. Amenities at the complex were amazing, our kids absolutely loved the pool. And a short walk to a beautiful beach and lots of nice restaurants. We will 100% be returning in the future.

Great apartment with large sunny terrace

Lovely apartment with spacious sunny terrace overlooking beautifully kept gardens within walking distance of shops and beach. Stayed over Xmas & New Year and were warm and cosy as the evenings obviously on chilly side. The resort first class and reception very helpful. Indoor pool and spa fabulous.

Great spot! Close to everything. The condo was clean, one room had no air conditioning and the beds in that room weren’t too comfortable. Other than that it was perfect! Really enjoyable.

Excellent well maintained property

We have been returning to Estrella and Luz for over 10 years now and still love the relaxed vibe of Luz and how the standards of Estrella never fail to disappoint. This was our first stay in this particular apartment which we found to be spacious for 4 adults and 2 children although (as the description explains) the third bedroom could be uncomfortable as there are no windows or air con (fan provided). This wasn’t a problem for us as the main bedroom was large enough for us to have the children sleep in with us. The property was spotless as maintained by Estrella management. The grounds and facilities are also really well maintained which is why we find it hard not to return every year.

Amazing space and location

The resort was lovely, fabulous heated outdoor pool and also indoor pool which was great towards the end of the stay when the weather got a little colder. The apartment was great, lots of space and everything we needed. Perfect location in luz, easy walk to town and beach. No complaints.

Had a great week with the family in estrela da luz . Apartment was great and very spacious and had all the amenities one needs. Resort also impressive and the heated pools and indoor pools and gym were great facilities for an October trip. Luz itself was great and with apt less than 10 min walk to the beach and restaurants it was perfect. Would definitely return.

Lovely holiday apartment complex

The apartment is lovely, very conveniently located, a short walk to the shops and beach. Plenty of room for our family of 6. However, 3rd bedroom does NOT have airconditioning, only a fan -no window either, so not great with two teenage boys sharing. Also there are no locks on the toilet doors - with 4 teenagers on holiday with us this was a source of embarrassment for them. Apartment very clean and cleaned several times throughout our stay. Great appliances, modern and easy to use with enough pans, crockery, cutlery etc to easily cater for a family of 6. Patio furniture not the best - chairs really uncomfortable and no cushions for them. The complex was meticulously clean, the pool and sunbed areas spotless and the gardens beautiful. We were very disappointed that the TV only showed sky news in English, my family are sports mad and were hoping to keep up with the commonwealth games whilst we were there and there were no BBC or sports channels, which were supposed to be included in the price. That said, we had a terrific holiday, the beach at Praia da Luz is fab and we ate out at some really good restaurants, The Dolphin and Forta Laza being our favourites. Great location for a family holiday.
