The Sloth Houses are 2 seperate houses with one price. Sloth 1 and Sloth 2. What will help you identify the difference between the two is the Sloth 1 Has the Pool, and the Sloth 2 has the jacuzzi. This listing is for the Sloth 2.

"Announcement -As of 3/1/26, we just received a little 2 toed baby sloth, born here on the property. See pictures). Excited to share with you the growth of this sanctuary we have created here. Please know, the money and time spent here will go so well in supporting the cause of nature preserve. With so much of the tropics being developed, we are doing our part to strengthen the desire to preserve what we have in the now. This is a true sanctuary, as we work with the Sloth Foundation to preserve the nature surrounding us here. Emerced in this space you will have the private pool, jacuzzi, outdoor kitchen, 5 minute walk to the beach, 15 minute walk to town, and free bikes to get you there. Each house receive a complimentary bottle of wine, organic chocolate bars from Caribeans and coffee. this amazing experiences emerced with the Sloth while enjoying your chocolate, wine or coffee. SPACES-
Cleaning tropical air proved by the plant life, and the ocean breeze.( No Air-conditioning).
Fresh air and thatch palm roofing which keep the home cool, as it reflects the heat of the sun. in fact, I visit the homes often and I'm always in awe of what nature can provide us in our space of comfort for free. The comfort, style and cool air from the ceiling fans and personal fans to keep you cool, while emerced in the Sloth activities. These houses were designed for style, comfort, convenience, natural environmental consideration and our privacy located just 300 meters from the black sand beach of Playa Negra. Enjoy the close convenience of being .7 kilometes from Puerto Viejo, but you feel you are in the jungle, as you are.
It's a jungle out here, as you most likely will enjoy Sloths in the trees most days along with all other wildlife here on our property.
The houses space-
Enjoy room temperature inside the house stays comfortable day and night, as it was specially designed to stay cool using earthen construction and an open-air design to catch the Caribbean breezes. All windows and doors are screened from outside elements. The roof constructed of natural thatch palm leaves, which reflect the sun rays also keeping the house cool, and the cool rain is dampened sound from the palm roof. It's very relaxing. The house was actually constructed from the earth. We used the earth dirt we excavated from our private swimming pool and constructed the walls of the home. This earthen building has been a great feature to keep a natural look and accomplimentary feel of nature.

Ground Transportation-
As far as ground transportation, the highlight of our guests trip we are told is always the river rafting trip. It includes ground transportation to Or from our villa on to San Jose, day of rafting, breakfast and lunch. The cost is $99 pp.
I Just thought I'd mention this as renting a car is not always necessary for getting around our area, as I include 2 bikes with our villa rental if you would like to travel by this means. Also, taxis and the bus system is also easy and convenient..

Eco-Friendly Custom Villa-
The owner took great architectural consideration in using as much native natural materials as possible and still defining the comforts of the clients standards.
The foundation was constructed of gavel and the base walls of dirt. The dirt was excavated from the properties private swimming pool and filled in the earth bags. After filling the bags with gravel and dirt they are then laid one on top of the other to form the walls. The walls are then stuccoed to protect the bags from the elements and finished for a stylish unique earthen/ Adobe look. The earth bags materials are of recycled polypropylene bulk bags.

All the lighting fixtures and accessories were hand-made from natural materials such as wood and coconut shells, thus eliminating the use of synthetic products.
