The house has been tastefully renovated and now captivates with its combination of traditional Frisian elements and a contemporary, Nordic living style. The bathrooms have been beautifully renovated, a large terrace has been added, and a fireplace has been installed. The old Delft tiles, floorboards, doors, and wooden beams have been lovingly restored. Whether there are seven of you or just two, with children or friends—enjoy sunny hours in the garden or the warmth of the fireplace. A sauna house with a front deck enhances the wellness experience at the thatched cottage Puk and invites you to relax completely.
The name of the house tells of its special history. It was originally called “Rauelk Puk”-Hüs—the house with the peaceful Puk. In Nordic legends, Puken are small house spirits who live under the roofs of old farmsteads and watch over their inhabitants. If you treat them well—and regularly set out a bowl of porridge for them—they bestow happiness, prosperity, and a sense of security. And somehow, it seems that this very good spirit continues to live on in this house to this day.
