Vacation cottage Windrödel

On the edge of beautiful beech forests in the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park, we warmly welcome you and your four-legged friends to our Windrödel holiday home, furnished with rustic and cosy charm. Here, you can relax with your family and dogs, enjoy the view of Lake Edersee, and unwind; anglers, cyclists, motorcyclists, and mechanics are also very welcome here. The Kellerwald-Edersee National Park offers not only a variety of hiking and biking trails but also ranger-led hiking tours, which you can find in our guest information folder.
After your hike or bike ride, you can store your bikes and strollers in our lockable basement room and clean them there if needed; laundry can also be washed and dried for a small fee—a washing machine, dryer, clothes rack, iron, and ironing board are available for your use. For cosy winter evenings, a fireplace with a bundle of firewood (for an additional fee) is available; during the warmer months, you can enjoy your time on the furnished patio (with a charcoal grill) and let your four-legged friends run free in the partially fenced-in garden. The large garden is available for your exclusive use. For our younger guests, a travel cot, a high chair, and a stair gate are available upon request.
You can easily reach our house by car; two parking spaces are available. However, it’s also easy to get here by train; our train station is about a 10-minute walk away.
Our bright and spacious holiday home features 150 square metres of living space and can accommodate 6–7 people and up to 2 dogs. A dog bed with blankets and food bowls is provided for your four-legged friends. Except for the bed and the sofa, your four-legged friends are welcome throughout the house.



Windrödel Holiday Home:

Our house is laid out on the ground floor with a kitchen (fully equipped), dining area, living room with a smart TV and a fireplace, a bedroom with a 1.80-meter box-spring bed and a TV, and a bathroom with a toilet and a walk-in shower. On the ground floor, there is a large bedroom and living area with two 1.40-meter beds, a balcony, a sofa, and a TV; a bedroom with a 1.80-meter double bed; and a bathroom with a toilet, shower, and bathtub. We make the beds before your arrival, and towels and tea towels are provided for your stay.
Towels are available upon request for swimming trips. We are a non-smoking home; smoking is permitted on the terrace and in front of the house.



Check-in is from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., and check-out is from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
