About this property

Cottage at entrance to Greenwich national park

Located at the entrance to Greenwich National Park, this Greenwich Gate cottage is a peaceful retreat, offering direct access to the shore and stunning views over St. Peters Bay.

The cottage sleeps 4 and features natural cedar shingles on the outside, beautiful hardwood flooring on the inside, and an extra-large wrap-around deck on three sides. Fully equipped with BBQ, an outdoor shower, Wifi, and detached bunkhouse (sleeps +2).

The park covers a fragile coastal dune ecosystem and is home to some of the Island’s most beautiful and untouched beaches. It offers hiking trails, geocaching, an interpretive centre, and picnic areas.

St Peters Bay is a charming fishing village offering all necessary amenities, plus bike rentals, jewelry making, the Courthouse Theatre, dining options, and more. It is a stop on the Points East Coastal Drive and an access point to one of the most picturesque stretches of the Confederation Trail, an Island-wide cycle path developed on abandoned railway lines.

Perfect for families or anyone looking for a seaside getaway, Greenwich Gate offers a scenic, peaceful setting with all the conveniences of home. Located only 45 minutes from the Charlottetown Airport, it provides easy access to PEI’s best: sandy beaches, world-class golf, music and theatre, dining, and more.

A Lovely Place

Leigh’s cottage is squeaky clean with Island charm and character. It’s always nice when a homeowner trusts guests with a pet and our pup probably had the best time out of all of us! We also loved the surrounding beaches where we caught our dinner while lounging on the shore…pretty spectacular. Leigh went above and beyond her duties as host when she allowed us to alter our trip to due an incoming hurricane, so you are dealing with a good person when booking with Leigh. Absolutely recommend.

Cutest cottage!!

We were a family of 5 staying at the cottage, it’s exactly as advertised. It’s decorated so nicely and had everything we needed. Our kids loved exploring the beach and finding treasures. Leigh was excellent in providing tips and info about the island and really helped to make our stay great. We’d love to come back!!

Perfect cottage getaway

We really enjoyed our stay here! The cottage was very private which was exactly what we were looking for! Leigh Ellen was very easy to get in touch with if needed and we were even able to get in a little early which was great! The breeze coming through the cottage was really nice on the last day as most of our stay happened to be during a heat wave and it was a bit hot with no AC but we were able to cool off at the beach and our dogs loved cooling off in the bay! We would definitely go back!

Cute little cottage at the perfect location

Beautiful views of the St. Peter’ Bay, the National Park only 5 min away. The perfect place for a relaxing vacation. The cabin has everything one needs. Easy communication with the owner Leigh Ellen. We put our canoe and our bicycles to good use directly from this property. The Confederation Bike Trail is close by as well. And the Beaches- Aaaaaaah so wonderful!

Wonderful place on St Peters Bay!

Leigh's house is just as pictured and possibly even better than we anticipated. Clean, well stocked, all the amenities, lots of personal attention to detail - overall a great place on PEI. We traveled around the island a bit and were very glad to come back "home" to the Shining Waters cottage. The detached bunkhouse is a bonus that was used by my daughter as her home while there. Proximity to Greenwich National park and beach were also appreciated. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone - its away from any hustle and bustle but close enough to everything!

Adorable cottage

We loved our stay at the cottage. Quiet and out of the way but ice cream and other amenities nearby. Gorgeous view! An hour from Anne of Green Gables but worth it! Thank you for all the fine details of this cottage. The kitchen items are great!

Quaint and cozy cottage with breath-taking views and access to St. Peter's Bay

Cute cottage equipped with all of the basic necessities and kitchen tools to feel right at home. Greenwich national park -beautiful beach dunes and Boardwalk near by to enjoy as well. Biggest concern was security especially at night! Cottage is down a road with no neighbours to speak of and/or telephone access. Sure glad we brought our personal cell phones. As much as We loved the peace and serenity of getting away from the busy bustle of life, the isolated location did worry us as a family of 5 (3 young) children in the middle of no where so to speak. Nonetheless we enjoyed our time at the cottage. Thank you.

Great Location in an Adorable House

The house is in a really beautiful, un-touristy part of the island. It has some great local seafood restaurants nearby and a beautiful national park. You can watch the sun go down from the deck every evening and have a fire outside. I hope to go back!

Lovely cottage in a lovely spot!

We just returned from a wonderful stay at this cottage. The cottage itself is cozy and adequately supplied with whatever you need- plenty of towels, beach towels, kitchen supplies, etc. The location of the cottage overlooking St. Peter's Bay is lovely. The sunsets were beautiful and the breezes that come through the house are refreshing ( and kept the mosquitos away some nights!) Where this cottage is situated is perfect- just down the road from Greenwich beach, which is gorgeous and sparsely populated, good food close by ( we walked up to Lin's for fabulous burgers, and got food from Rich's down the hill), and in a good spot to easily explore the Eastern Point as well as get down to Charlottetown. Greenwich Beach is so beautiful and so close that we spent part of 3 different days there, on our 4 day trip. The bunkhouse was a perfect kids' spot. Although my boys slept in the cottage for nighttime access to the bathroom, the bunkhouse was their zone during the day, and they loved having their own special space. Oh, and there is an outdoor shower- one of my favorite summer rental features! It was a wonderful stay, and we were all sad to go when the time came.

PEI Perfection

The cottage is adorable and came with everything we needed (towels, bedding, dishes, BBQ, clothesline etc.) Leigh is very accommodating and made us feel very welcome on PEI. The cottage is in a quiet and peaceful area with access to the water. We highly recommend walking up the road the short distance to Lin's Take-Out; huge menu, nice people, and yummy ice cream! We also can not stress enough that visiting the national park just up the road and walking to the Dunes Beach is an absolute must! Most beautiful place we had ever been (and it was all to ourselves!) 5 girls stayed here and we would return in a heartbeat! The bunkie on the property is quaint and so cute and allowed us to spread to out. The cottage was perfectly clean and tidy. We all fell in love with PEI and hope to return in the future!
