Nice and quiet location. Equipped with apt amenities for a short vacation. Host was friendly and went above beyond to provide personal guidance about the island attractions when asked for.
Really enjoyed our stay.
Beaches, shopping, restaurants close 10-20 min drive from the property.
Condo is clean and well appointed with all the necessities. Beach gear was great too.
The apartment was spacious bright and clean. We especially liked watching the sunset from The Veranda with a glass of wine. John, the property manager, was especially helpful. We would love to stay there again.
The unit is well maintained and well stocked. Everything was very clear and easy. We enjoyed being able to hit the pool or hot tub as well as bbq. The property manager was very friendly and helpful. My kids loved the pool and making friends. Would dedefinitely stay here again as it checked
The condo is small but clean, door locks need some work, kitchen faucet was about to fall off, beach towels and bathroom towels need to be replaced. but overall a nice place to stay. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were clean. Pool was great and not far from condo.

Perfect!!!
Our Hawaii vacation was the best! The location was perfect for traveling all over the island. We were pleased with the accommodations and it had all the conveniences of home. We were able to eat breakfast at the condo, go out all day and return home to relax at the pool. On our morning walks we could watch the turkeys and ducks from the golf course. We have a new favorite restaurant located in Waimea at Merrimans. We also enjoyed sunsets at Lava Lava. Check them out. We had no problems and I would recommend the condo for anyone. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Worst experience we ever had in a hotel or rental property. Listing shows condo in Waikoloa-actually in Waikoloa Village which is 7 miles away. Misleading listing if not downright false. Had problem with TV. Called property manager and he said was unfamiliar with the system setup. He called owner and advised me all "standard" channels were on the TV but could not get NBC, CBS, ABC, ESPN, etc. Sent cleaning lady over to see if she could help. DUH!No TV in bedroom which is expected in a one bedroom condo. Is a second floor condo and steep steps since no elevator. Had to struggle to get our luggage up and down the stairs. If my wife was alone, she could not have managed this. No shampoo, No facial tissues.Very old frying pans and cutlery. Had to hold shower head manually in the proper position when showering. To top it all off, a toilet clogged on our last day and would not flush.

Thank you for your review. We’re sorry to hear that this property did not meet your expectations, and we appreciate the opportunity to provide clarification for future guests.
VRBO provides an interactive map that clearly shows the condo’s exact location in Waikoloa Village. The term Waikoloa refers broadly to the area extending from the oceanfront resorts (including Hilton Waikoloa Village) through and above Waikoloa Village itself. The listing description repeatedly and accurately states that the condo is located in Waikoloa Village, approximately 15–20 minutes from the coast.
All amenities are accurately listed on VRBO, including what is and is not provided. As a privately owned vacation rental—not a hotel—we do not supply shampoo or hotel-style toiletries, as many guests prefer specific brands. Starter supplies are provided to begin your stay, and the local grocery store is conveniently located nearby for any additional items needed. We do not resupply consumables during a guest’s stay, which is standard for vacation rentals and clearly reflected in the listing.
Under Accessibility, the listing explicitly states that there is no elevator and stairs are required, as this is a second-floor unit in a low-rise residential community. This information is disclosed prior to booking, and we encourage all guests to carefully review listings to ensure the property meets their needs.
Regarding the television, the service and channel lineup are exactly as advertised. It appears you were seeking channels beyond what is offered. Guests are always welcome to contact us prior to booking with specific questions to determine if the property is the right fit.
The toilet issue was reported on the final day of your stay. Upon inspection, it was evident that something inappropriate had been flushed. No charges were applied, and your deposit was not withheld.
We take pride in this property and stand by the accuracy of our listing. With numerous prior 9- and 10-star reviews, we feel this review does not reflect the experience of the majority of our guests. While we regret that this stay was not a good match for your expectations, we believe the information provided on VRBO is clear, complete, and accurate.

Mahalo for staying. We are sorry to hear you thought the condo was too warm. We don't advertise we have Air Conditioning. The windows are new windows and open easily. If you had a problem, a simple email, text or phone call would all would be needed to get myself or a handyman over as we are only around the block.
Condo is very well funished. Lots of kitchen utensils and bakeware for cooking at home. We were able to go several days between running the dishwasher because there were so many plates/cups. If you're traveling with small children, plastic dishes are minimal just fyi. Plenty of towels and blankets too. The condo pool was very nice! Short walk and the water was warm. We were a little nervous about no a/c but it never got uncomfortably hot (visited in Dec and Jan) and we were able to keep it comfortable with the windows and fansOnly complaint is that they asked us to start the dishwasher before we left but only left 3 tablets for a 3 week stay so we had to purchase additional dish detergent

Great Location
This condo was a great location for our family. It was close to several amazing beaches and activities we enjoy doing at the Big Island. We loved having the pool and hot tub facilities, which are well taken care of. However, there was a few things we didn't like about the condo such as it being located on the top floor. It is hard to keep kids quiet enough for renters below and this was a problem we had to be careful about (had we known this was the case we would have asked for a unit on the bottom floor - next time!). It was also not stocked with things that are nice to have and not have to buy on vacation (TP, zip locks, tin foil, cooking spray, salt and pepper, garbage bags and had only enough laundry detergent for 5 washes - just the basics - but to be fair it wasn't as if those things were said to be there but it is more that we expected them to be). There were a few boogie boards but both broken so we bought a few at Costco. There was a few other very small issues that we had to contact the manager about BUT they were resolved in a quick manner. Be sure to check in at the office soon after arrival for a parking pass - that was a problem we had that was quite an inconvenience because we were always out doing things when the office was opened (10am-2pm). All this said, the manager was extremely helpful, considerate and quick to respond to any questions or problems we had. We would contact him again for future housing in the same area and request what our needs are.

Many thanks to everyone who has stayed at the condo. The owners and I are very grateful for each and every guest that stays in D204. We strive to make sure each guest has an exceptional vacation by providing with all the amenities of home to get started with. We don't provide items for your entire stay, but enough to get started with for the first few days.
Inspections of the condo between renters happens regularly. Sometimes items are missed. Guests are expected to contact the manager immediately if there is anything that is a problem, something missing that was thought should be there, or with any questions concerning the condo, the complex, or even needing recommendations for adventures, dining, or sight seeing. The owners return to the property several times throughout the year. They are diligent in replacing or upgrading anything that shows wear in the condo. Please do not hesitate to contact our manager, John, at anytime during your stay. We want everyone to have a great vacation experience at Fairway Terrace D204.
Great space, clean, excellent location, reasonable cost. The check in and checkout process were very easy! We loved the pool and hot tub available in the complex.
Great stay, strange smell coming from washer found standing water on inside before even running first load. some things to improve on screen door lock kept getting stuck, more bath towels, especially for guests staying more then three days and beach towels that are not worn or raggedy. The guest sink stopper is broken, missing outlet cover in dinning room which is a safety hazard especially for guests with children.
We had all the printed directions at our fingertips when we got to the property, but the directions were somewhat hard to understand and follow. On top of that, nowhere on the printouts was the actual unit number. The directions only listed "how" to get there. It was confusing because the gate it told us to park next to also was not working, therefore we had to utilize the second gate which made it all that much more confusing to follow and try to figure out. I feel that by simply adding in the unit number would have alleviated a lot of the confusion. Other than that, it was a great stay. We would rent this unit again.
Quiet, clean and perfect for a couple or small family.

Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Disappointed
When we arrived, the apartment had not been cleaned. The owner apologized appropriately over the phone and arranged for a new cleaner to come but we had to leave the apartment for most of the afternoon. He offered to refund the cleaning fee and give us a gift certificate for the inconvenience and our lost time. He sent me a text with a $100 gift certificate for a local restaurant but did not refund any portion of the cleaning fee, which was bizarre. I never asked for the refund -- he offered -- and then just didn't follow through. The apartment was adequate but was a little rough: carpet coming up in the master bedroom, toilet seat delaminating, big scrapes on some of the kitchen doors, and some other cosmetic issues. It was adequate, but it could be really refreshed with some modest investment of time and a little money. The neighborhood is fine -- it's not dangerous at all as someone else stated nor are the neighbors rude in my opinion -- but it is a bit farther out than I realized when I booked it. Overall, it met the basic needs of lodging for a few days on the Big Island but I was disappointed with our experience. Had we not encountered the cleaning/refund issues and some of the simpler cosmetic had been addressed, I would have rated our stay higher.
Nice surroundings with plenty of security lighting. Nice pool and spa. Friendly tenants. Quick and easy access to main roads to beaches and resorts along the coastline. Comfortable furnishings. Condo manager helpful and considerate.
We enjoyed our stay at Waikoloa Village. There were restaurants and shopping nearby. Easily accessible to all major roads. The condo was nice, but could use some updates.
This condo is located in an area easily accessible and travel able from to many island sites!
Had a bit of a delay when attempting to get a response from PM regarding a foul smell under sink ….🐭. PM apologized for slow response and was very accommodating afterwards. Thank you!
Would stay in area again but def would rethink staying in same unit- think downstairs neighbors are used to no one being upstairs……
All in all the stay was enjoyable. Unit has just enough room for a couple or couple with 1 older child. Super nice to have washer & dryer!

About the host
Hosted by John Landers
We, the Walton Family, fell in love with this island, and have been visiting it for many years. Then, we finally decided to make it our second home so we can enjoy it more, and have our kids and grandkids come visit.
We bought this condo and decided to share it with others who want to discover what this island has to offer from a comfortable home base rather than a cramped hotel room. This condo is ideal for families with small children, or adults who enjoy golfing, since the golf course is literally across the street. Because this is also our home, it is nicely furnished and decorated. We like birds as you will see! The lanai has a view of the horizon, and on clear days, you can see Maui! The condo is quite breezy and has cross ventilation when all windows are opened.
The complex has a gym, salt water pool, hot tub and a BBQ area. It is also within walking distance from the Village Center, which has a grocery store, gas station, a coffee shop, a couple of restaurants, and other stores. It is also within a few minutes' drive to the King's and Queen's market places, which have quite a few nice restaurants and shops, and Anaehoomalu Bay, where turtles come to rest at the shores. A 10 minute drive up the Kohala coast, will take you to one of Hawaii's best white sand beaches, Hapuna Beach.
There is so much to explore on the island, such as hiking, snorkeling, surfing, taking a tour to the volcano or the observatory, and visiting the black sand beaches, or you can do nothing but work on your tan.
So, whether this is your first visit, or twentieth, we hope you enjoy our home.
Why they chose this property
Close proximity to the best beaches on the island, family oriented Village, golf community, cool elevation, centrally located between Waimea, Kailua-Kona and now quick access to Saddle Rd. to go to Hilo in just over an hour!
What makes this property unique
We chose Fairway Terrace because it is a gated community, has an exercise area, pool, gas grills, close to all the best things in Hawaii. Minutes to the best beaches on the island, close to hospital, schools, shopping, offices, and airport.
