Hale Aloe, your affordable tropical getaway, remains a peaceful retreat amidst Puamana’s recovery efforts following the Lahaina fire. While the landscape has changed, this charming 2BR/2BA garden-view home continues to offer a private, comfortable oasis, just 100 steps from the ocean and 60 steps across a meadow from the Dolphin Pool area, which is in the process of being restored.

The front and back outdoor sitting areas at Hale Aloe provide privacy, away from the foot traffic of oceanfront properties. Enjoy your lanai, surrounded by Puamana’s oldest plumeria trees, swaying palms, a bubbling fountain, and, of course, plenty of aloe—the inspiration behind the home’s name. Aloe thrives in the garden and is perfect for soothing sunburn or skin irritation.

This home is ideal for a family of six or two couples, offering cool travertine floors throughout, double-pane windows, and updated appliances. Recently renovated and decorated in a contemporary Hawaiian style, Hale Aloe showcases local and vintage artwork, adding to its unique charm. The kitchen is fully equipped for indoor cooking, with a Weber BBQ on the lanai for outdoor grilling. Amenities include a washer/dryer, air conditioning, ceiling fans, free Wi-Fi, 4 built-in USB charging stations, and 3 flat-screen TVs with cable.

The spacious master bedroom features a king-sized bed with a private bath and walk-in shower. The loft bedroom offers flexible sleeping options, including a full-size platform bed, twin fold-down couch, and additional sleep cushions, while the living room sofa pulls out into a queen sleeper with a Tempurpedic mattress for added comfort.

Unfortunately, the historic clubhouse and some amenities were lost to the fire. Despite this, Puamana still offers a truly unique island experience and the perfect place to unwind and relax. A complete renovation of the spectacular Ocean Pool was completed in October 2025, offering guests a one-of-a-kind setting right at the water’s edge with breathtaking views of the Pacific. The Dolphin Pool is also open and available for use.

Home away from home

The property has all the comforts of home and yet it’s still located right near downtown Lahaina with numerous businesses including restaurants, grocery stores and shops. Would gladly stay here again.

Wonderful family vacation!

We came to Maui for a family vacation and for our son's 10th birthday over the fourth of July, this is an IDEAL location!!! Steps from a (basically) private beach, walking distance into Lahaina, and perfect for 2 parents downstairs and 2 kids upstairs.

Lovely place!

The townhouse was comfortable and nicely appointed. The beach chairs, cooler and beach towels really came in handy. I highly recommend snorkeling at the sunken pier at Mala Ramp in Lahaina. Lots of fish and turtles!

Don't hesitate to reserve!

This place was so cozy and welcoming. All three kids fit easily upstairs and everything was so well appoinnted! This is definitely a place that stands out from th typical rental that is set up skeletally to extract maximum profit at the expense of comfort. The florid back patio is a relaxing spot to start and end the day and it's a few steps to walk to Puamana'a little beach.

Felt like home

This property had everything we needed! All the beach necessities (chairs, umbrella, noodles for the pool!) The kitchen was well stocked and even had a coffee bean grinder for the Kona coffee we bought at Costco when we landed. We loved Puamana - more quiet than the large resort areas. We were able to walk with a stroller to town but be warned no sidewalk for a large portion. Traffic wasn’t bad and we felt navigating the walk. I can’t think of anything we’d change about our stay!!

Healing Lahaina

This was so easy and convenient. My heart breaks for the community of Lahaina and what is happening there. I understand it will take time to rebuild and to heal. With that said, if you’re expecting a resort stay this is not it. This is a place to heal and feel! The condo was cute, comfortable and had all the things we needed for our weekend, including games and A/C. I hope to enjoy a full week there someday. Labeled, organized kitchen. Simple check in & check out and perfect for relaxing and having fun. Pool was perfect and beachfront pool was almost completed. That will be a great spot very soon. The sunset hangout spot where the reception used to be was beautiful. Only minor issue was connecting to apps on the TV as previous guests were logged in and we couldn’t access. but we didn’t need TV with the beauty and activities that Lahaina/Kaanapali have to offer! Wonderful location and amenities.

Our flight to Maui arrived after dark. It had been a day of long drives and last minute flight schedule changes. The drive from the airport was not difficult and the directions we received were accurate. Our only struggle was seeing the unit numbers and figuring out the parking situation. Once we entered the accommodations everything was well laid out and the kitchen had everything we needed. Our place was towards the back of the property so we had a little more traffic noise from the nearby highway than I prefer but it was still a pleasant experience. We hope to return to Maui and explore more in the future.

Puamana Paradise

We loved being in Lahaina and the location was great. Beach access right on the property made it extremely convenient. We also appreciated the short distance to Front Street with all the shops and restaurants. The kitchen comes well-equipped for cooking. The check-out process was much better than other properties we’ve stayed at before. We did notice that the sliding glass door in the master bedroom didn’t have a dowel and the door handle lock wasn’t clearly visible. We contacted the property manager and they had someone check it right away and explained how to check the handle to ensure it was locked. We appreciated their attentiveness.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo is next to a main thorofare. The road traffic is loud enough to keep you awake at night and make conversations on the lanai difficult. The only solution at night is to keep all of the windows closed. The main form of A/C (mini-split) apparently is not working, so the owner is using portable window A/C units in each room that are loud and run constantly. Puamana is nice, however, I would avoid this unit or any that are along the back row (away from the beach) if you are looking for a quiet stay.

This unit is on the mauka side of Puamana so there is a bit more road noise from the Hanoapiilani Highway. The condo was well stocked and is older, but the owners have taken great care of it. The ocean was literally just seconds away, a very short walk from the front door. We absolutely loved our time here. Our daughters loved swimming in the ocean, as well as spending a lot of time in the pools. Puamana is such a beautiful place!It was with an extremely heavy heart and fear of uncertainty that we were forced to evacuate due to the fire, and hurricane force winds, on August 8th, 2023, that decimated Lahaina town. The owners maintained contact with us during the evacuation and ultimately refunded the reservation nights we were unable to use. It was a tragic and abrupt end to our time on the island, but we look forward to the day Lahaina rebuilds and can come stay in Puamana again. In the meantime, we will be praying for the people of Lahaina and all of Maui.
