Beautiful, elegant and restored Historic Lodge in Northern Minnesota.

Marcell Lodge is a lodging opportunity in the Edge of the Wilderness area and is located on Ranier Lake. The Marcell Lodge is a restored 2,500 sq ft 4 bedroom, 2 bath log cabin that is on the National Register of Historic Places. This unique, elegant, and beautiful lodge has a full kitchen, air conditioning, 3 levels, large indoor porch, private dock, swimming area, 2 bathrooms, laundry machines, and a very large great room! The Lodge is in a private setting but is located on the site of the Edge of the Wilderness Discovery Center so you are in close walking distance from a picnic shelter, interpretive trail, other historic buildings, a fishing pier, outdoor amphitheater, and the Discovery Center itself which includes modern interpretive displays, a gift shop, and environmental education programs throughout the summer. The Marcell Lodge also connects to the sidewalk system which leads to various businesses in Marcell and the Marcell Recreation Area which has a playground, tennis courts, and a paved trail.

It was a wonderful place to stay for winter break. The cabin is cozy with enough space to separate or be together in one room. The property in the winter is peaceful and beautiful. The host is very responsive if you need him and the cabin was clean. The kitchen has all the dishes, pots and pans you need. Bring paper towels or napkins. We would stay again.

This historic log cabin is absolutely beautiful—rustic yet elegant, with every comfort we needed. The setting is peaceful and full of charm, making it the perfect northern Minnesota getaway. Highly recommend!

Lovely historic cabin

Spacious cabin that was perfect for the whole family to enjoy some time together in the north woods. Great combination of boats and paddle boards for fishing and playing in the water.

Up North Experience

Beautiful historic log cabin with all the amenities you would want. The grounds are well kept and very scenic. The area is very peaceful, relaxing, and interesting. This is our second year coming to the Marcel Lodge and have had a fantastic experience both times.

Beautiful and cozy place. Very clean and has everything you would need. Only negative thing is we all agreed upon is beds could be a little more comfortable. Definitely will stay again when in the area.

Weekend family getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. There are many modern amenities within this historic building. The central air was key during our late July stay! The detail and craftsmanship of these old CCC buildings is breathtaking. Great beach and fire pit.

This is the 2nd time we've stayed here and it is always so peaceful! The cabin is beautiful, the supplied water activities were a hit with the whole family, and the new firepit was a nice addition to see and use! Tim was very easy to work with and kept us updated on some things that impacted our stay (plumber had to come and fix a toilet after we checked in and the oven didn't work). The plumber was friendly, professional, and fast! I can't recommend this cabin and town enough! Love the atmosphere and the history behind it. Always 5 stars from me!
