We LOVED our stay here. Perfect cozy cabin for an extended family vacation. The water and the beach were pristine, and we got to visit with a swan family and their little swanlings! Awesome place to bring kids. Felt very roomy even though we had 10 people.

TV in living room did not work . The dishwasher sounds like a airplane . Down stairs was cold . Walking down to the lake the tree roots are a tripping hazard. And last power one day for 4 to 4 and a half hours neighbor the happens from time to time .

Hi Diane. We are sorry to hear The Getaway on White Swan Lake did not meet your expectations. Regarding the TV and dishwasher, our turnover crew and prior guests did not inform us of these issues. Given your feedback and information though, we bought a new 50” TV for the main living room and also replaced and installed a new dishwasher. To address the other items: The temp downstairs can be easily regulated and increased by adjusting/closing heat registers upstairs, which we hope and assume you tried; There are multiple obvious other paths through the yard from the cabin to the lake, particularly on the left/south side, that have absolutely no exposed roots; And we are not proactively notified by the power company when the power goes out, which sometimes happens if there is an issue somewhere in the power line network running throughout the north woods, which is out of our control. But in the unfortunate event that power is lost, there are full, complete instructions in the guest book on what to do and who to contact. We have made a lot of investments and improvements every year since purchasing and offering The Getaway, including a better, bigger sandy beach area, fully remodeled basement, and remodeled, bigger upper level bathroom, to name a few. And we continually look for ways we can improve the cabin for all future guests, too. But thank you again for allowing us to host you and your group and we appreciate your honest, candid review. Great stay

My family had a great stay! Kids loved the sandy area and canoe snd kayak rides, despite the weather not being the best. Loved that we could bring our dog. Clean and well stocked if you forget something. Will definitely consider booking again.

A great place to stay!

We spent 5 days at the cabin and it was just what we were looking for. A secluded property, a very comfortable cabin with all the amenities you need, friendly and responsive owners, and a beautiful lake to look at and play in. We had a great time and hope to go back next summer!

A relaxing getaway

Family trip

I gave this place the 5 rating but would give it a 10 if I could. It is a perfect place for a family vacation. Cabin was clean and well stocked. Everyone had fun in and on the lake.

Quiet and Peaceful

Very well organized and stocked, cabin was spacious and had all amenities that were needed for our stay. Lake was good swimming, loved the sandy beach and everyone enjoyed the kayaks and paddleboat. Many hours enjoyed spent fishing! Lots of memories made for our family!

The Getaway was perfect for our family. Plenty of space for us to be all together and plenty of space for "alone" time too! Loved the large dining room. The outdoor space was enjoyed by all of us, mostly by the dock for fishing and the fire pit for relaxation

Perfect place for fishing and swimming! Nice place to put in a boat and the included canoe and kayaks were great. Very quiet lake. It was sooooo relaxing. The place is bigger than expected and for 7 people we all had plenty of space to play games, draw or read without bumping into each other or constantly move stuff around.

Relaxing Getaway

Just as described, a relaxing Getaway. Very Peaceful and loved the lake. My husband and I canoed around the whole lake and it was very memorable. Still water and peaceful morning!! Would definitely recommend!

Convenient and Beautiful property

We had a great stay at the cabin. While it wasn't secluded, it was super convenient. The lake is beautiful and very peaceful, the property was clean and well stocked, and we enjoyed being able to walk to get donuts and groceries. We will be returning.

Our family really enjoyed our stay. The kids enjoyed fishing, swimming in lake, playing in the sand, hanging out in the loft and basement and making s’mores at the campfire. There was plenty to do. The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed and was very clean.

Great cabin ina beautiful setting

Great accommodations. Loved seeing the swans on the lake. Pleased the fall colors were still in bloom. Truly enjoyed the solitude. The place had everything needed and more. Would go back again and recommend it to friends. Thank you so much!
