About this property

Makin Waves - Close To Everything!

Minimum age to book- 25.

Makin Waves is located on the first floor of a privately owned home with its own private entrance. The only thing between Makin Waves and the beach are the sand dunes. The beach is only a short distance, approximately 3/4 of mile via access road 1-A. Everything Port Aransas has to offer is only minutes away, including the beach, ferry, marina, golf, shops and restaurants. We are just one block off 11th Street, near the intersection of Beach Access Road 1A. Close to everything!!

Our unit comfortably sleeps 4 guests, but can accommodate up to 6 guests with 1 bedroom & 1 bathroom. Makin Waves is perfect for a couple or small family. The master bedroom features a queen-sized bed with linens. The family room features 2 built-in twin bunk beds and a full-sized sofa sleeper.

We feature all the conveniences of home, including a fully equipped eat-in kitchen with all customary appliances, granite counter-tops with 4 bar-stools, washer/dryer, linens and towels for 6, spectrum cable and internet service, parking for two vehicles and a private patio facing the beautiful sand dunes.

We look forward to welcoming you to your home away from home while visiting our beautiful city - Port Aransas.

Relaxing get away

This spot was perfect for our quick get away to the beach. Made for a nice walk to the beach in the morning. The sleep arrangements for our kids was easy with the sofa sleeper and bunk beds all in the same area. We will definitely book this spot again.

Anniversary get away

Property was nice. We were a little surprised that there were no cleaning supplies. In past VRBO's that we have stayed in there have some type of disinfectants to wipe down counter tops a such, there were none in this rental. There were several lights burned out including the fronyt porch lioght.

The pictures didn't do this place justice. This is a very nice place. It was very clean. We enjoyed having the back patio. There is a quality outside grill that works great. The beach, shops, and restaurants are all close. The kitchen had all we needed. Our only negative is the beds were not very comfortable. We would stay here again.

Spring break 2021

We stayed here for spring break 2021. 2 adults and 2 kids fit nicely without any issues. It’s located in a good area that is not far from the beach. There is construction going on right next door. It wasn’t bad but you should know about it.

The trip we needed.

This trip was a greatly needed event for the family. We were on a tight budget and had been looking at several places. We opted to go a little higher to get this listing since it had the “home” feel we wanted. It felt comfortable and we had a great stay. The main bed was waaay softer than our home bed. That made the nights a little less comfortable for us particularly. But we napped enough to catch up on rest. The kitchen utensils and pans had food still stuck on much of them. We cleaned a big batch of them before and after using. Probably a great idea during the pandemic era anyways. All in all, we loved the space, it was quiet and comfy and it felt very private. We’d stay again for sure.

Great Get Away

This property is amazing! It was very clean, well maintained and decorated nicely. Our family of 5 had plenty of room and felt right at home. The washer and dryer in the home was a game changer especially after long sandy days at the beach. Will definitely recommend this property to family and friends and we are already planning a return visit!

Property is right there in Port Aransas, literally close to everything. It was SO CLEAN! It’s nicely decorated, kitchen cooking necessities were provided, there’s washer and dryer which is nice for those wet swimsuits. There was a fridge, tv with cable (my kids loved that!), outdoor shower to get the sand off, WiFi access. We were sad to leave. It was me, my husband, and 3 kids between 1 and 5 years old. We all had a blast and it was nice and private!

Simple, 1bd/1bth unit in heart of Port Aransas. Don’t plan on sitting on the back patio as the mosquitos will eat you alive!

This is a nice property much better than a hotel. Very cozy and a short drive to the beach and everything. My only suggestion and I don’t know if its on VRBO side but there are owners fees and service fees that didn’t show until after the card was charged. For two single moms it was a pretty big unexpected hit. Other than that it was a great experience. We will stay here again, its worth the money just would be nice to know ahead of time about the fees. Great communication with the owner and manager if you have any issue... slept 2 adults and 3 teenagers very comfortably

Nice place - great layout!

Nice getaway for a few days. Liked the layout with the built-in bunk bed option. Wi-fi always worked, kitchen had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable. Easy coordination to rent. Owners very nice. We drove to the beach each day (few minutes) - $12 permit purchased at the nearby convenient store - which is good for the entire season. That made it easy to bring all the beach stuff. The walk to the beach is out to the road, which is also doable (10 min walk maybe?) but not if you are carrying a lot of beach things. You would want a wagon, if walking. There’s no direct access from behind the house to the beach even though you are really close. Highly recommend.

Exactly what we needed

Property manager was great working with us with all of our needs and questions. Super nice cozy little home. Got to meet the owner and they are super nice and outstanding people. They stay out of the way and don’t pry into your business. Def will be coming back!
