Such a charming place to stay. The beds were comfortable, it was incredibly clean, and they thought of every single detail. Would absolutely stay here again!
The apartment was great, the bed very comfy and plenty of plugs and such for electronics. The view of the mountains was great and the neighborhood was very quiet. Great place to come home to.
What a gem! Beautiful space, great hosts, wonderful location. I loved all of the small touches: comfortable bed, natural botanical shower amenities, a bidet option…absolutely fantastic property! I was able to relax and recharge! And bonus deer and hummingbirds right outside!
Lovely stay! We met Margie, but not Stan - a very gracious host. The setting is serene, the gardens still lovely as summer ends, and we were most comfortable.Thank you!
Perfect little home in the middle of everything - it's great for when you want to travel all over the peninsula. Hosts were lovely and provide everything you need and more for your stay!

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
Hosts communicated quickly, everything was as described. Location was excellent! Only negative - washer is like an rv washer & dryer combo. It did not get most of our clothes clean.
Came for the week and to work remotely. The garden room was beautiful, super clean and contained everything a traveler could need. Very comfortable stay!
The Garden Room was exactly what my sister and I needed to come back to at the end of our long days exploring Olympic National Park! The room was very clean, quiet and the views were amazing. I would definitely stay here again!
My whole family loved the Garden Room! It was our favorite stay for the week that we were in Washington. It was spacious, beautiful, very clean, and the hosts thought of every little detail. It was also a super convenient location for both the Lavender Farms and Olympic National park. It was a highlight of our trip! They gave us fresh eggs from their chickens and even left some beautiful flowers from their garden on the dining table.
Margie and Stan were great hosts and this is a great place to stay. It was exceptionally clean, well stocked and lovely. They were very responsive and pleasant. We had a great time.

About the host
Hosted by Margie Osterbauer
Hi, we're Stan & Margie Osterbauer. We have lived in Sequim for over 20 years. Stan is a Systems Analyst (glorified computer programmer), and Margie ran a daycare center in what is now the Garden Room. Stan is originally from the Los Angeles area, and Margie hails from Colfax, WA. We have 23 grandkids scattered over the Pacific Northwest. We converted the daycare playroom into the Garden Room studio vacation rental. It's been fun setting it up and making it cozy and beautiful. We hope you book it soon and enjoy your stay. We look forward to meeting you!
Why they chose this property
We originally came to Sequim for the spectacular beauty of the North Olympic Peninsula, and the 'Rain-shadow' effect. Sequim gets just 17 in. of rain per yer (about like L.A.). The gorgeous mountain views are what first drew us to plant ourselves on this lovely acre. It has since grown to be what our grandkids call 'Grammie's Park'. See for yourself!
What makes this property unique
The Garden Room is comfy, cozy, beautiful, and very close to all the attractions you come to Sequim and the Olympic Peninsula for. It has all the comforts of home in a gorgeous location, at a very affordable price!
