Imagine starting your day with coffee on the expansive 1,000 square foot deck, watching the morning light dance across Murphy Bay on Lake Pend Oreille. As evening arrives, unwind with a glass of wine while enjoying a stunning sunset over the water. Murphy’s Retreat offers a private, peaceful lakeside escape with no direct lake access, yet it delivers incredible views and a wonderful sense of tranquility.
The home features two comfortable bedrooms, each equipped with double queen bunk beds, comfortably sleeping up to 6 guests. Inside, you’ll find a bright, modern kitchen fully stocked for easy meal preparation, a spacious living area, and a full-size washer and dryer. High-speed 1 GB WiFi and Netflix are provided for your convenience.
Outside, the oversized stone patio with its fireplace and the wood pellet smoker and propane BBQ grill combo create the perfect setup for outdoor dining and memorable evenings around the fire pit (firewood provided).
Located just off Lakeshore Drive, the retreat is only a 5-minute drive to downtown Sandpoint’s vibrant shops, restaurants, and festivals. City Beach is a relaxing 20-minute bike ride away, Schweitzer Mountain is 15 minutes by car, and Silverwood Theme Park is about 40 minutes. World-class hiking and biking trails are nearby, giving you year-round adventures right at your doorstep.
In winter, enjoy skiing and snowboarding at Schweitzer, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, or snowshoeing. This is a true four-season destination with amazing weather and activities all year long.
Murphy’s Retreat is pet-friendly — we have our own chocolate Labrador named Murphy, and the home sits on Murphy Bay, which inspired the name.

It was absolutely gorgeous and I absolutely loved the little map on the wall it was so very helpful in finding some places. It was also wonderful how many games and other items were offered at the property that were so helpful when we forgot things like chairs and extensions cords. Everyone in my group had an amazing time and we would definitely stay again in the future!

Everything was great! It took a while to figure out where everything was, but it felt very cozy, and comfortable. If you like specific spices in your cooking, bring them, there are spices, but limited selection. The paddle boards and kayaks are a great addition! My girls had a great time! The lake was still cold, but it was early April. Overall, amazing experience! I'll look for this cabin if we're ever staying in the area again. Also, it's not far from Silverwood when it's open!

Stayed with daughter, sister and mom for Christmas. Really nice location overlooking the lake, would be great in nicer weather to sit on one of the decks. Really cozy overall. 4 stars instead of 5 as the bunk beds were really difficult to reach (even for a young 20 year old), there was a random hair on one of the sheets (not belonging to any of us) and could use a refresher set of pans. Would absolutely stay again.

Very comfortable cabin. Beautiful place to relax and catch up with family who lives nearby. Loved the grill, fire pit, deck...everything! For the past 15 years, our family has returned to Idaho again and again — progressing from tents at Sam Owen Campground, to a tent trailer at Round Lake, then a travel trailer at Spring Point — until we finally discovered our perfect slice of paradise at 21 Westview Place.
We bought this home because we genuinely wish we could live here full-time. It’s our happy place, and we take great pride in sharing it with guests who will appreciate its peaceful lakeside setting, thoughtful details, and prime location. We love helping visitors create memorable experiences — whether it’s recommending the best local hikes, hidden beaches, or dinner spots, or simply ensuring everything is perfect before you arrive.

Our deck and stone patio (both upgraded shortly after purchase) have become the heart of the home — perfect for morning coffee with lake views, evening barbecues, or simply unwinding with the sounds of nature. The neighborhood offers gentle walking paths, gorgeous light, and that wonderful “Old Sandpoint” charm with well-maintained properties and friendly vibes.
Best of all, you’re only a short drive (or bike ride) from downtown Sandpoint’s shops and restaurants, the Farmer’s Market, City Beach, hiking trails, and boat launches. It’s the ideal home base for exploring the area while returning each day to a tranquil retreat.

Guests particularly love the wicked fire pit (we supply the firewood), the wood pellet smoker and propane BBQ grill combo that gives you versatile cooking options, and the ability to head out on the water or trails using the two included kayaks or several bicycles — all available at your discretion. Custom wood carvings by a local artist who lives just down the road add a special artistic touch throughout the property.
Inside, the home features a bright, modern kitchen and living area along with a beautifully updated bathroom. The kitchen is fully stocked with quality cookware and pantry staples so you can settle in easily and cook with ease.
