A short distance away Siracuse with it's historic center, the Island of Ortigia, Vendicari Natural Riserve with some of the most pristine beaches, Marzamemi a picturesque little fishing village, to name a few.
For wine connoisseurs there are a multitude of vineyards nearby producing many famous varieties such as nero d'avola, syrah, cerasuolo di vittoria, bianco d'alcamo, grillo, inzolia, cataratto to name a few.
Day trips to Caltagirone well known for it's ceramics, Donna Fugata Castle built in the 17th Century and featured in several movies such as Visconti's The leopard. Taormina and Mt Etna are less than two hours away...there truly are endless opportunities to explore this beautiful region.
