Columbia Tree House - Downtown Hood River with Big View and Fenced Yard
Beautiful Rustic / Modern home just west of the downtown business district of Hood River with unobstructed views of Mt. Adams and the Columbia River. Due to strict regulations, the majority of vacation rentals in Hood are located within the busy business districts - this home is one of few available in a relatively calm, centrally located, residential neighborhood.
The home has vaulted ceilings over the great room / kitchen. The north side is all large windows yielding views of Mt. Adams and the Columbia River from any location in the living / dining area. The master bedroom / loft is vaulted and spacious feeling, as well.
The house was designed to be open and social. Even when cooking in the roomy kitchen, you will be facing your guests / family and the view.
Located in a quiet neighborhood and separated from the noise, traffic and congestion of downtown, we are a short, safe walk to two of the best breweries in the Northwest, if not the world! The grocery, liquor store and pharmacy are ¼ mile to the west.
*The main floor (Great Room / Kitchen, 2nd Bedroom and Main Bath) are at the same grade (plus three steps) as the driveway / parking area.
*This is the upper two floors of a 3-story house (1st floor is a separate living space).
*A maximum of 6 guests is allowed, but there are beds for only 4.
*Many pets are allowed but must be discussed prior to booking and described (age, breed, size) in a reservation request. Pet Fee is required, and the pet box must be marked when making a reservation request. The Pet Fee is for ONE PET. Additional pets may require an additional fee and / or deposit. Thank you for the review and thank you for reporting the pet damage. That you were up front was super helpful toward finding an economical solution - thank you for your patience. I'm happy you had a successful fishing trip!
Great location for visiting the waterfront and downtown. 10-15 min walk to most places downtown. It's a very comfortable home in a quiet neighborhood. There is a fenced side yard with an area for a dog to do business. The view is amazing.
We really enjoyed our stay at the tree house. The view from inside and outside was amazing. The host was in contact with entry information well before check-in time so we weren’t worried. Everything we needed in the kitchen was provided. The bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend this rental for your next visit to Hood River!

We were in town to make my husband’s dream of trying out wind sports in Hood River into reality and this was the perfect base camp for making that happen. The house is close to just about everything, and the river view is unbeatable.

Perfect Stay
My wife and I recently spent 3 days in the 'Columbia Tree House' and loved it. It's a very well designed home, conveniently located, with great architecture and craftsmanship and awesome views. I've traveled to the Gorge many times and this was our best accommodations yet.
This was a great place for a weekend in Hood River. Convenient location, very clean, cute place and nice river view! Owner was very helpful and responsive. A great choice!
We stayed here for three nights for a wedding weekend. It was comfortable and spacious for two couples. It’s an easy walk to downtown and great location with a great view. Beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed. We did not do any cooking but the kitchen had the basics. The place could use a deep cleaning and some upgrades but Brian was very responsive when we reached out with a question. I would stay here again.
Great location, walkable to town and the river. Epic views from inside the house and the balcony. The house was equipped with pretty much everything we needed and all was in good working order. Brian, the owner was very responsive and helpful with local knowledge.
The Columbia Tree House was located very close, walking distance to downtown Hood River. This VRBO offered an excellent view of the Columbia River. We spent a lot of time just lounging on the back deck enjoying the great weather and the tremendous view of the river. I would stay here again.
The house was well stocked with everything and offered a great location near downtown Hood River. The views were outstanding. Brian did a great job communicating. We would definitely return.
It was just what was needed. The location was perfect for sitting and Reading, eating, and just being in the moments. Thank You Brian. Also bring your binoculars. So much to see on the river
Just 10 blocks from historic Hood River, beautiful old buildings and very nice shops. Easy drive to the waterfalls or east to The Dalles area. The Mt Hood loop is a must see as well.
The house is well appointed and comfortable, great decor. And, the view of course. Mt Adams and the rive are directly in front of you. Better than tv. Thank you Brian!

About the host
Hosted by Brian
We both came here for the lifestyle that Hood River makes possible. You'll find us on the water, in the mountains or on our bicycles between trips to coffee shops and brew pubs.
Why they chose this property
The lot the house is on belonged to a friend of the family for many years. When it came time to develop or sell the property, none of the kids was still living in the area - Brian was the next in line.
What makes this property unique
The home was built to feel like every day is a vacation day, with the functionality and warmth of a full time residence. • Great View • Comfortable / Open Living Space • Spacious Social Kitchen • Walking Distance to Everything
