Wonderful Summer Holiday

Christian could not have done better to make sure our stay was memorable. We were a party of 10 and the main house, the gite and the loft. It allowed for separate space but loads of time to get together in the main house and pool to enjoy the weather and the the wine! We could not have wanted for anything else with the exception of a few less wasps! Would recommend this place to anyone. Thank you Christian

Lovely place and an excellent base to explore the area

To celebrate a significant birthday I booked Christian’s restored farmhouse complex near Fumel for my extended family and some friends (12 of us in total). There are 3 bedrooms in the large farmhouse, another 2 in the neighbouring gite, and one more newly refurbished room in the house opposite, perfect for my parents with a walk-in shower. All the spaces are very well presented, inside and out. The shared spaces are large and comfortable, and the kitchen has all the facilities you could need, with ample storage. We loved the technology too, especially the speaker system that meant we could have music outside during our evening meals on the veranda. The pool was clean, not too cold and very well used! The views are amazing and the property is incredibly peaceful, but only 5 minutes away from Fumel/Montayral with all the restaurants and shops. Perfect location also for exploring the local area, with great chateaux and beautiful villages nearby. Christian did a great job making us feel welcome and answering any questions we had. I only wish my French language ability was a bit better, but we managed to communicate well in any case! We will always have lots of great memories from our stay, and I would highly recommend Pouzatel to anybody.

Noël 2023 en famille à Fumel

Très belle semaine passée à Pouzatel. Bon accueil de Christian qui a mis 3 logements à notre disposition (nous etions 12) nous étions bien à l'aise. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la cheminée et les équipements de la cuisine. Bonne literie chambres spacieuses et confortables. Le temps correct en plein hiver nous a permis de profiter de la table de ping pong du terrain de boules des VTT. Belle campagne environnante et jolis petits villages. Des Nantais et des Barcelonnais très satisfaits.

Très belle propriété, au calme et dans un environnement superbe.

Christian, le propriétaire des lieux, a été très prévenant, cherchant à améliorer notre séjour en réglant rapidement des petits détails parfois minimes , attentif à ce que tout soit parfait , comme il aimerait que ça le soit pour lui. Il a même acheté un 2eme lit parapluie pour que nous n'ayons pas à transporter le nôtre ! Le seul point noir pour nous a été le temps cette année ! Encore merci Christian pour votre accueil votre gentillesse !

Fantastic holiday!

We had a fantastic time here, which was a well needed break that exceeded our expectations. Christian and his wife were amazing hosts, who were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. They went above and behind to ensure we had a comfortable and memorable holiday. The house was equipped to a very high standard and was extremely clean. The outside space was well thought out with brilliant sound system, BBQ and comfortable outside seating to enjoy al fresco dining and to top it a beautiful countryside view! A supermarket and amenities were also within easy reach. We would not hesitate to recommend this property! Thank you again for a truly amazing holiday!

Fantastic property

Our group had a lovely stay at Pouzatel in September 2019. There were 9 of us in total (4 parents and 5 young adults), and the main house and cottage gave us plenty of space to make ourselves at home. Both properties are very well equipped, especially the main house, with its spacious, hi-tech kitchen, beautiful dining room, etc. The 2 sets of parents chose to sleep in the cottage as they were the only en-suite bedrooms. A little less glamorous than the rooms in the main house, but we were perfectly comfortable. The pool was wonderful and it was great that there were other activities on-site to keep everyone happy, e.g. table tennis, a pétanque court and a pool/billiard table. The icing on the cake was the quiet, rural location, so it was peaceful and ‘away-from-it-all’, although we were only a short drive from shops and supermarkets in Fumel. Well worth a visit is the Chateau in Bonaguil where we had a terrific guided tour in English. A bit further afield are Puy L’Eveque, Cahors and Rocamadour… all very pictureque towns to visit with great restaurants and brasseries. Christian and Nicole are friendly and hospitable and their 3 dogs are adorable. Our only complaint was that the English version of the Homeaway website failed to inform us of some rather important information prior to our booking. At the time of writing, they are still listing bedlinen and towels as ‘provided’ and, on closer inspection, now I can see in small-print, in French (after the reviews, the location map and the calendar), a tiny mention of ‘departure cleaning’ and linen hire, plus details of a €1500 security deposit. None of us had any idea of this at the time of booking, and it created considerable stress and embarrassment during the final few days before we began our journey to France. Christian did show us evidence that the information was clear on the French equivalent of the listing, but Homeaway really need to provide clarity on this for English-speaking visitors. Thankfully, Christian was very gracious and kind about the situation and the issue did not spoil our holiday. He allowed us the option of cleaning the house before we left and, as there were 9 of us, we could each take a share. We would like to send thanks to Christian and Nicole for being lovely hosts and we will happily recommend a stay at Pouzatel.

Fantastic Stay

Stayed here for 10 days in August/September time and absolutely loved it. Fantastic property and great host. Any issues we messaged the host and he helped immediately and was always there if we needed any advice (e.g. local area and great places to eat). The house was separated into two properties but the main part of the house was more than big enough for the 16 of us. Heated pool was great as well and the views from the property were amazing. Would recommend this property to anyone looking for a bit of peace and quiet with beautiful surroundings. Thank you Christian!

Nous avons passé de très bonnes vacances en famille dans la belle maison de Christian et Nicole ! Grande maison très agréable et très fonctionnelle. Grande piscine chauffée, très agréable terrasse ou nous avons passé de long moment. La maison est très calme et cependant proche de Fumel ou l'on trouve tout le nécessaire. Très proche également de beaucoup de lieux à visiter. Nos hôtes nous ont proposé beaucoup de visites et Nicole nous a même proposer des balades à pied à travers de superbes paysages. Je recommande !

Un véritable écrin pour 14 personnes

Nous avons séjourné 2 semaines dans cette magnifique maison. Nous étions 7 adultes et 6 enfants de 10 à 1 an. La maison est particulièrement bien équipée: installations hifi et télé haut de gamme, literie de haute qualité et une cuisine aménagée comme il se doit quand on entend préparer de bons repas pour une tribu. Les extérieurs sont apaisants, bien entretenus et la piscine et propre, chaude, un véritable bonheur pour passer de bons moments en famille. Les propriétaires sont charmants, toujours disponibles. Quant à la région, elle est riche en patrimoine et sa nature est splendide.

Superbe séjour

Que du bonheur pour une grande famille ou pour des vacances entre amis avec des enfants : une maison parfaitement équipée, confortable (literie impeccable), un cadre magnifique, des lieux touristiques alentours, et surtout des hôtes d'une grande générosité et d'une grande disponibilité qui sont vraiment soucieux du confort de leurs "locataires" (on pourrait dire "invités"). Et le "plus" : des chevaux qui courent dans le pré, une carrière, etc. pour les amoureux des chevaux, c'est le paradis ! Nous y avons été très heureux pendant 3 semaines : détente, bonnes parties de rigolade autour de la piscine, déjeuners et dîners entre amis sur la terrasse et discussions autour de la super cuisine (pièce centrale) très agréable et très conviviale. Nous y retournerons, c'est sûr !

Annonce tout à fait en rapport avec la réalité. Séjour très agréable, facilité par une maison spacieuse avec une cuisine de rêve (trois fours, un barbecue et une plancha)et tous les équipements pour faire de grandes tablées. Une piscine, un billard et des vélos à disposition pour de belles ballades, de quoi divertir tout le monde.Grande terrasse pour les repas ensoleillés. Les propriétaires sont charmants et aux petits soins. Destination tranquille à conseiller. Visites à faire aux alentours.
