A stunning remote villa in the Andalusian hills

Cortijo Los Mármoles is a beautifully maintained villa nestled in the hills of Andalusia. The cortijo is looked after by Juan and his wife Carme and they've clearly put their heart and soul into it. The cortijo itself sleeps 6 comfortably (a room with one double bed, and 2 other rooms with 2 single beds in each) but my partner and I decided to just go ourselves. And it was a treat. There is a beautiful pool just a few feet away from the house which is probably about 5 metres across and 10 to 15 metres long. Plenty big enough for a good swim or cool down every day. With a number of sunloungers dotted around to soak up the southern sun. The cortijo itself has everything you need inside. And has a BBQ outside, which we used every day. The road/track to get to the house off the A339 is very rough, but our little Fiat 500 handled it ok. The location is a blessing to those who want some isolation. The nearest town or village is miles away (Carcabuey), which means the evenings are sooo peaceful. No cars or people to be seen or heard. I will definitely be coming back. I absolutely loved it.

Maravilloso entorno

La casa está genial. Completa de todo desde lavavajillas, hasta columpio para los pekes y no tan pekes. Juegos con cancha de petanca. Todo muy limpio y ordenado. La piscina con unas vistas inmejorables. Sólo dos cosas, el acceso a la casa es un camino angosto y largo con grandes cuestas y el exterior de la casa una soleria de piedras grandes sin pulir, si te caes te apañas bien. Por lo demás perfecta

el camino es una via estatal, la distancia es de 1 km escaso las `[cuestas ] estan hormigonadas y son como cualquier calle del pueblo, estamos en la sierra no en la campiña, y las piedras son del mismo entorno para evitar el impacto medioambiental ya que estamos en el centro del parque natural y las normas para la contruccion son muy estrictas.

Fantastic property in a fantastic location

Lovely peaceful and quiet high quality property, with stunning views, located a few km away from the nice village of Carcabuey. The hosts, Juan and Carmel are very welcoming and helpful and the house is fully equipped. We have had a wonderful week in this property and will look forward to coming back.

The most relaxing holiday ever

The villa and pool which are high up in the mountains are perfect for a relaxing holiday away from it all. The views are amazing and the facilities make for a comfortable time for everyone Juan and his wife couldn’t do enough for us We will definitely book again

Hemos pasado 10 días de tranquilidad y relax increíbles la casa perfecta y los exteriores de sueño

Lo que más me ha gustado son las vistas da igual que haga sol o que llueva todo es bonito en esta casa en los exteriores el olor a Azahar a encinas y a hierbas aromáticas es una pasada. Y los dueños encantadores os mando un saludo.

It's a must! We'd love to return!

Rural bliss! Comfortable, well furnished home with everything you could want in the kitchen. Fantastic friendly, helpful hosts who made super recommendations about visits in the local area - clearly a Spanish tourist destination, we had researched but didn't realise just how much there was to do within easy driving distance. We stayed with teenage children so the pool & wifi were a real bonus, but there was plenty in the local area for them too. We would definitely recomment the Tourist Office in Preigo de Cordoba as a first stop - wonderfully helpful. (see trip advisor). We would definitely have returned next year but the dates are already taken!

Très bon accueil des propriétaires. Cadre super sympa avec vue sur la vallée. Maison tout à fait correcte et confortable. Piscine super agréable et décalée de la maison ce qui est sécurisant lorsque l'on a de jeunes enfants. Bref très bon séjour.
