About this property

A gîte of character and grand comfort in the heart of nature 3***

Authentic "Cevenole" house built in the 17th century, restored with care and providing all modern conveniences, set at the end of a charming 1,5km winding road in a hamlet of 9 houses.

The environment is outstanding, poised at the gates of the Cevennes and the Grands Causses.

Swimming in the Vis river is 3 minutes away by car and you can also swim in the Hérault river.

ARRIVALS
- On the day of your choise for a minimum of 4 nights

- EXCEPT in JULY and AUGUST, stays are organized from Saturday to Satuday

MANY THINGS TO DO
- Activities: Canoeing - hiking - biking - fishing - rock climbing - donkey riding.....

- Visits: The Grotte des Demoiselles - The Grotte de Clamouse - Saint Guilhem le Désert - The Musée du Désert - Many typical French villages....

There are two separate cottages in the mas
Reserved parking just behind the house

The house has a large fully equipped kitchen/dining room with microwave - large owen - 4 burner gas hob - large fridge + freezer - dishwasher - kettle - toaster - 2 coffee makers (1 classic + 1 senséo with pods)

Large living room: Big TV - board games - books - DVD player - stéréo

4 confortable bedrooms:
- Three bedrooms with 1 double bed (1,40 x 1,90)
- 1 bedroom with 2 single beds ( 0,90 x 1,90)

2 bathrooms with shower (2 hair dryers) - 2 toilets (1 of which is separate)

Landry room: washing machine - ironing table with iron also available for the second cottage

Option of cleaning service (at the end of your stay)

One can rent sheets and household linen

There is a security deposit of 300€ paid on the day of arrival and returned on the day of departure

Un mas dans les Cevennes.

Tout était parfait.Un accueil super, une location avec beaucoup de charme tout dabord.Mais aussi une terrasse avec une vue magnifique. Pas de pollution sonore, ni visuelle autour de ce mas : on admire la nature, on en profite vraiment. Merci aux propriétaires davoir créé ce petit coin de paradis et de nous en faire profiter. Un bout de paradis

Nous avons passé une semaine de rêve à la Combe. La maison est très agréable et la vue est à couper le souffle. Les hôtes sont charmants et très disponibles. Le site est très riche en randonnées et sites à visiter et ne pas oublier les baignades dans la rivière. Nous recommandons vivement cette location!

Très bel hébergement rustique, authentique et très confortable dans un cadre majestueux

Dans un petit hameau au bout du monde, paisible et avec une vue imprenable sur les collines alentours, nous pouvions partir randonner au départ de notre logement. Nous avons adoré le site du cirque de Navacelles à quelques kms, Le coin est idéal pour les amoureux de nature et de paysages exceptionnels. Et tous les commerces utiles sont seulement à quelques minutes du logement. Très pratique !

Super semaine en pleine nature dans une région magnifique.

Nous avons passé une belle semaine, le gîte est très agréable, bien équipé et dispose d'une vue magnifique. Les repas pris dans le jardin, sous le cerisier, accompagnés par le chant des cigales étaient un pur bonheur. La possibilité de se rafraîchir dans le bassin naturel après les randonnées étaient vraiment un plus très appréciable. Les propriétaires sont très agréables et accueillants. Tout était parfait.

A wonderful location - felt like sitting in the mountains. Locally, there were some great walks, spectacular vistas and interesting excursions. Fab river swimming nearby too. View from terrace was amazing and house had everything we needed. It was quite remote, making it very quiet and peaceful - bliss! Joëlle and Patrick were super welcoming, kind and friendly. We loved it!

Our roots from the Cevennes and our love to the region did motivate us during the years of the renovation of the cottage, which was built in the 17th century during the time of the breeding ot the silkworms. It is a nice way for thanking our elders for the history and their hard work. It's the place where our sons did grow up in total freedom.

Why they chose this property

The cottage is and will stay our family cottage. The hamlet of La Combe is located 2 km above the village of Saint Laurent Le Minier in front of the dale of the Vis. Everything is full of sun and green. The wide open space and the magic of this space are perfect for breathing new life.

What makes this property unique

The situation of the hamlet allows you to travel through the region and than to enjoy some peace on the sundeck. The fully renovated cottage is very comfortable. During the summer, you may enjoy bathing in the clear water of the Vis and canoeing on the river 'Hérault'. There are plenty of visits to do in the surroundings, you may travel with your car, your bike, your feet or on the back of a donkey. You may also laze in the coolness of the house or in the shadow of the trees.
