The house was bright, cozy, and comfortable, as described and beautifully decorated. The furniture arrangement was perfect for our group of six. The kitchen was well-equipped and the beds were comfortable. It was great that each bedroom had its own, updated bathroom. The location is perfect—so near the lake and “downtown” Union Pier. We couldn’t have asked for more. A real find!

Perfect place for a girls’ weekend! Location is perfect for morning walks to the coffee shop, or to watch the sunset on the beach. Everything that we needed for a quick weekend getaway was included. Highly recommend.

Close to the beach and some of the shops of Union pier! Can’t beat the location and space this home provided for our short stay. The home is decorated nicely in each room. We can’t wait to visit again.

Easy walk to a beautiful stretch of beach, a great bakery/coffee shop, and a market. Plenty of beds and bathrooms for our group. Good space for group meals and playing tabletop games. Very wide open and light filled, which is great for socializing. It might be a challenge for guests who are running different hours from each other, or who are seeking quiet while others are active.

We have been coming to Union Pier for the last ten years and this is one of my favorite properties we have stayed in. Great location, great layout and it has a very homey feel. A lot of properties you stay in feel generic or sterile but this feels like a place you actually want to stay and come back to. The beach is just down the road and the yard is terrific too. Top notch!

I bought the house in 2009. I renovated the kitchen, guest bathroom, added an outdoor deck and made other improvements in 2013-16. In 2022, I added a dormer for more living space, bedroom and a third full bathroom. I cherish MI ReTreat, but am not able to use it as often as I'd like since I moved from Chicago to Nashville. I enjoy sharing it with family and friends.

Why they chose this property

I looked for two years before buying MI Retreat. I loved the open floor plan, skylights, fireplace and creating a colorful/relaxing space.

What makes this property unique

Abundant natural light. Screened-in porch. Outdoor deck. Modern kitchen. All the comforts of home. Colorful artwork. Wood burning fireplace. You can walk one way down street to beach, and the other way to the town of Union Pier. The place is unique and unlike most rentals. Furnished not like a rental property, but like a real home!
