a fantastic holiday at la polombara
on arrival at La Polombara we were greeted by the owner larrisa, who is very passionate about the house and the Sabina region, it did not take long to see why. The house itself is amazing, its immaculate and the 360 degree views are breathtaking.
The house is ideally located in the quiet region of Sabina and is a short drive into the medieval town of Casperia, which is worth taking a look at, especially on an evening.
Larrisa promotes the area along with her friend Laura,Laura offers to show you the sites, smells and tastes of the region and its an experience not to pass, especially the olive oil, honey and porchetta tasting, which is made by her farther in law. Even after the hustle and bustle of Rome you could come back to a home cooked meal italian style as Larrisa,s friend Francesca will do this for you at a small price this was a lovely experience, which I must say was delicious. We also enjoyed a wonderful meal at the restaurant La Vecchia Quercia in Selci. the Pizzas are huge!. Rome is about an hours drive and Florence about 2.5 hours, the house is a really good base should you wish to travel around. Larrisa and her friends made the holiday special and were so helpful, we have some lovely memories, we enjoyed the house and the area so much, we are going back next year
thank you all again.

Beautiful Hilltop Retreat
We stayed at La Palombara in July 2014 and it was truly remarkable. Located less than an hour from the airport (if you don't get lost) it is off the beaten path for sure but worth the winding roads and narrow streets. A car is a must! As you wind your way up the driveway, you know you are in a special place as you get your first glimpse of this home. It is on a property with 360 views and beautiful sunsets. The interior of the home is so charming and warm and feels spacious and open. It feels like an authentic Italian home which added to our experience. Francesca, who can help with meals and cleaning is such a lovely women and I highly recommend you take advantage of her services, especially the first few days as you are trying to get acclimated. The town of Casperia itself is quite small and completely shuts down in the afternoon but comes to life again in the early evening where you can find locals and visitors enjoying wine, beer or cappuccino in the town circle. Larissa, the owner of the home was WONDERFUL to work with and so helpful with her information. There was lots of communication before our arrival and she answered all our questions fully and responded quickly. Our family of 5 highly recommends you take advantage of this very special home and location. It does not disappoint and I will have the memories La Palombara for many years to come!

Casa e dintorni entrambi stupendi

Why they chose this property
"La Palombara" is an ancient noble & rare house located in Casperia, a medieval town in Sabina. Casperia's neighborhood close to "La Palombara" is actually called "Palombara area", sign of its historical importance. It is a unique stone-house from 1600's, the result of a huge reconstruction project that took 10 years to be completed, taking lots of care and passion as well. Today "La Palombara" offers both the beauty & charm of its original architecture and lots of contemporary comfort, such as internet, full-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, wash machine. The stunning panoramic garden, dominating the view over the hills of Sabina, completes the scenery. It will be a relaxing but very inspiring trip- you will have the chance to visit several medieval towns, abbeys and castles, thermal stations, national parks and lakes. Further we are just 1 hour- drive from the International Airport "Leonardo da Vinci", from downtown Rome and from the sea (Lido di Ostia, for instance). An experience away from busy routes crowed with eager tourists that consume their trips as they were eating at an all-you-can-eat buffet. Sabina is a region that has preserved its traditions, its culture and its gastronomy. Here we enjoy slowly millenarian & delicious dishes, we appreciate nature in its simple but powerful rhythm, and we connect with sincere and friendly people. An exclusive but affordable experience. A memorable trip to taste with your family or in small group of friends.
